“Really great....but you need the most expensive room in the hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We booked out hotel through bookings.com. The price was reasonable and we were not expecting much. However, much to my delight, we were upgraded - to the nicest room in the hotel. They were overbooked and we got to stay in a king bed room that had been newly renovated and furnished. I am not aware to the cost of the specific room. The hotel itself is rather dated.

There are specific things to watch out for - the parkade is located at an awkward location. It is a round-about route to get from the parkade to the front desk. Watch out for this if you have lots of items to carry from your vehicle to your room.

“Good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

The hotel was good for couple of days. However the room which was 2euros more expensive had much better bathroom. My bathroom was shared with other room (luckily there was nobody) and it hasn't been renovated for a long time.
You should have a reservation for the parking place (even if you buy a room with parking free place).
There is great connection to the old town by tram, it takes only 8 mins. You can also go there on foot (25 mins).

Room Tip: It's better to choose those little more expensive rooms with private bathroom.

“rooms with shared toillet, shower and wardrobe and with nasty odours”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

We went on our honey moon to this hotel. when we bought the trip from the travel agency we required a double room with it's own shower and toilet.
We arrived in at the hotel at about 10 AM and we wanted to check-in. the receptionist said that we can check in only at 2 PM and if we wanted to check in at that hour we have to pay for an extra night. we refused to pay anything extra, left our luggage in the luggage room and went visiting the suroundings until 2 PM. when we returned we checked in and received a room at the 9 floor (the last one). when we entered in the room we saw that there were actually 2 rooms with a shared lobby, wardrobe, toilet and shower. we called our travel agency and asked them to confirm us that we were intitled to receive a double room with it's own toiled and shower. the agency confirmed this and said that they will contact their Czech parteners. after that we went to the receptionist and required him another room with it's own toilet and shower. he said that in the whole hotel there are no rooms with their own toilets and showers. we said thar we do not belive him and reqiured to speak with his superior. he said that there are "superior" rooms in the hotel but that we need to pay an extra 2000 czech crowns for them. we replied that we have already paid for such rooms at the travel agency and again reqested to speak to his manager. he called an his manager and we explained again the situation to him. he said that he received a phone call from the czech partener of our travel agency and that we can have a room with its own toilet and shower. then he gave us the key from another 9 floor room. we went to the room an discovered that it vas next to the previous room. it had its own shower and toilet but at the toilet it smelled very nasty.
there were mold in the toilet and i belive they had problems with the ventilation.

On the bottom line i do not belive that the hotel deserves 3 stars and i DO NOT recomand you to stay in.

PS: I have photos of the room but i am unable lo upload them because of an error

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with its own toilet and shower.

We are sorry to hear about your experience with us. First of all, please understand that we are not able to offer you your room before 2PM unless you give us notice before your arrival day. Our check out time is 10 AM so we have 4 hours clean all our rooms before new guests are able to check-in. We prioritise the cleaning of rooms so that guests who have requested an early check-in in advance will have their room ready in time. Whilst we would always do our best to try and accommodate guests who arrive early, when the hotel is busy it isn't always possible to have rooms ready for them. This is why we offer to look after your bags until check-in so that you are free to explore Prague.

Unfortunately, we weren't made aware that it was your honeymoon. Let me assure you that if we had known we would have offered you a free upgrade to our LUX room with a terrace and incredible view of Prague. This information wasn't communicated to us by your travel agent.

Unfortunately I was unable to check the specific circumstances around your visit because your message didn’t include the dates that you stayed at our hotel. I understand that you were allocated a “FAMILY ROOM” where there are two separate bedrooms with a shared toilet and bathroom. This type of room is normally booked for a family where one room is used by the children and the second by the parents. Occasionally, when the hotel is busy or fully booked, we offer these “Family Rooms” rooms to guests who had only booked a “Double room”. In these situations the “Family Room” would always be for your exclusive use and you would never be expected to share the bathroom and toilet as the second bedroom would remain unoccupied. This would have been the case for your visit.
Our hotel offers the following types of room. Single, Double, Triple, Family, Lux and art deco superior. All our rooms have their own toilet and bathroom facilities.

Do not hesitate to send us your photos, we can upload them here for you. You can see the picture of family room at the online booking form.

“Superb quality for that price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

I spent about 10 nights at this hotel while looking for a flat in Prague and at some point I felt like at home. The atmosphere in the lobby is very nice and the majority of the stuff is very professional and cordial. It might not look nice from the outside but some of the rooms are in my opinion superb considering the price you pay. I had to change room 2 times (my fault, I was booking day by day) and while some rooms were excellent, some others (I'm guessing the ones in the older part of the hotel, maybe the higher floors?) were a bit run down and old but still clean and cheap. Breakfast could be improved with some fruit, while hairdryer would be very useful in rooms. The location is good, it is not really in the centre but it is well served by trams that go into the centre.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 1st or on the 3rd floors are excellent.

“Visit to Prague”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Hotel not located in city centre but right outside is the Tram stop (Number 9) only three stops away from central Prague. The Hotel looks like something of a communist throw back but it is basic, clean and safe. The reception staff in the main speak English but can be slow in serving but I suppose you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Ask for floors upto the 5th floor they have been renovated up to this level.
