“Enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

My second stay at this Movenpick property. Again, we were greeted by a professional and friendly front desk person. Our room was very clean and spacious. While not directly in the Old Town, it is very convenient if you are travelling by car. While parking is a bit expensive, I found a plenty of free or very affordable parking in close proximity. Public transport to the city is plentiful (trams, metro) or you can walk to the Old Town in 15-20 minutes. My only gripe is that the cigarette smoke in the lobby was unbearable. The free WiFi is only available in the small area in the lobby which gets hit by all the smoke coming from the open bar. Unfortunately, smoking is still pretty common and on heavy side in most bars, pubs and restaurants in the Czech Republic. I would definitely stay again.

“Very positive surprise …”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I stayed at the Mövenpick in Prague for a business conference and was positively surprised by their executive part (I normally do not have the highest esteem for the Mövenpick hotels). The rooms are very nice and spacious, service is not bad and the location – although not very central – is convenient and presents even a beautiful view. Food was OK, especially given the large number of participants to our conference.

If I was in Prague as a tourist, I’d probably choose a more centrally located hotel, but for a business stay, this place is really perfect.

“Reasonable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

My room was nice and was clean but I had constant power blackouts and the hotel blamed my appliances like a laptop (no problem elsewhere). When I checked out they tried to charge me for a huge amount of alcohol from the minibar...when I objected as I didn't consume it, the charge was removed immediately.

“lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Great value for money, excellent room, we stayed a week in the executive wing which was amazing value for money as booked quite last minute, high standard with cable car ride to our room which overlooked the city from high up, excellent views and fantastic added bonus. breakfast was brilliant great choice of food. the staff were amazing, very kind and lovely people. lobby has brilliant ice cream snack and drinks bar where we spent a lot of time talking to a fantastic member of staff. he was insightful and made our holiday. location is a little further out but nice as you are within walking distance from all the facilities you need and from the main city but away from the hustle and bustle, easy transport to zoo, town, museums, shopping if walking is not an option and easy to access from the airport. restaurant in the executive building has fantastic views and is amazing to dine al fresco in the summer. a little pricey but to be expected when you see the quality of dining and food. executive building would be great for business and for a little extra luxury on your holiday and the main building is fab too if you arent looking for such a executive style holiday well worth a visit just for the man who works in the bar, let alone the cable car, views high up above prague and the lovely rooms.

Room Tip: rooms in the executive suite need a cable car to access, very good but to be kept in mind if you hav...

“no stars - avoid”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

It is difficult to see why this hotel is rated four stars. You are made to feel more like a squatter than a guest. Facilities, that are free in lower rated and much cheaper hotels, are not included or costly in this hotel.
There was no kettle in the room, I phoned reception to ask if it was possible to have a kettle because my friend was unwell. I was told that they did not have any spare kettles (in a four star hotel?? !!) and was transfered to the hotel bar, the barman was very irate and shouted at me that I needed room service) I phoned reception to complain but was promptly transfered to room service. Crazy when I was prepared to pay extra.I bought one from Tesco for about £6.00.
Wi fi was not provided in the room and they wanted 8 Euros for 3 hours! It is free in most bars and restaurants in Prague.
Most worrying was the security, you do not need your key cards in the lift so anyone can walk up to your room at any time., No safe was provided in the room.
Towels were not always replaced and a dirty cleaning cloth was left in the bathroom.
Not my favourite experience in Prague, but there are some good hotels nearby such as Red and Blue and Angelo

Dear Guest, thank you very much for your comprehensive comments.I would like to assure you that we follow up all the comments very seriously in order to improve the quality of services we offer. I am certainly sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your room. Please allow us to clarify your comments regarding the internet connection , coffee/tea making facilities and safety deposit boxes. Free wi-fi internet connection is available in the lobby area. In the rooms, however, it is not offered complimentary at standard rates, just at higher rates. This should be pointed out on all booking portals. Regarding the coffee/tea making facilities and safety deposit boxes, these are available only in our Superior, Suite and Executive rooms.Regarding our hotel security I'm sorry to read we did not manage to meet your expectations in this area, but nevertheless thank you for identifying such areas for possible improvements. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back in future.
