We thought we had booked the one in the old town but the taxi driver informed us this one was out of town though a 10 minute walk to the metro meant it was not the end of the world. Lobby looked decent but the rooms (though clean) were small. Same problem with others - stuff room as aircon control broken off and windows dont open very wide. Bathroom was tiny and view was of the cemetery. Fortunately was only a weekend stay - any longer would have been unbearable. Staff were rude and unhelpful (except for a lady called Suzanna who was definately the exception). Breakfast was mediocre. Food was not hot or replensished. Would i stay here again? definately not.

Hotel is out of old center, but only 7 to 10min to undergraund Metro station "Budejovicka", red line or C line, five stations to center Muzeum station on Vaclavski square and you are in town. It's realy not far.
Nice lobby, good elevators and clean room. Our room was like on pictures. They are changing towels and cleaning rooms every day. Bad was good. Breakfast was good too.
On the way to metro station there is good restoran "Botanica". Waiters and poeple in stores are not kind, I don't know why, but don't expecte that.

26 of us stayed here for my 30th birthday this year.

The hotel was a little out of town but by the time you'd walked to the underground and hopped on, you were in the centre within 20-30 mins so we were fine with that.

Hotel was quite nice, the bar was very nice but really expensive compared to the drinks elsewhere.

Rooms were fine, maybe a little dated but very acceptable for the prices we paid.

If I went back to Prague I maybe wouldn't rush back here, but would be fine if someone else booked for us to stay here again.

I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights with my husband,

*Very miserable staff, no smiles, hello's, nothing!!!
*Old fashioned rooms, horrible bathroom, nothing like in the pics.
*Room overlooking graveyard! SPOOKY
*Hotel in the middle of nowhere, felt unsafe on the way to metro, which is a 5-10 minute walk, looked like a rough area with graffiti allover the walls along the way.
*In general rooms were very clean

Tips-
*When booking hotel book one in the Old Town it is safer and cleaner. We were approached by drug dealers in the New Town.
*Don't bother with the boat trip on the river, it just shows you the same things you have already seen walking.
*Wrap up warm in winter- FREEZING

There is no way this hotel lives up to its credentials. Some people budget there holidays but I had no budget and went on expectations illustrated to me on the hotel website - my stay in Prague was enjoyable however the hotel was a let down. The rooms are very dated - nothing like illustrated on their website - travel lodge have cleaner more modern rooms - and this is apparently a four star hotel ( even though the czech hotel star ratings are probably just based on how much money is spent on the lobby ) - the reception staff were miserable - right from the first conversation I could tell they were unhelpful - uninterested, like I was an inconvenience. No eye contact - talking over their shoulders at me when I ask a question, sliding the key across the desk at me, throwing a pen at me across the desk when I was told ( not asked ) to fill out the form. And yes - I did explain to them their attidude stank - did they care - nope.

The room - the best they had by the way - very dated - rubbish TV, uncomfortable beds, windows that did not open ( even though I was not planning to jump from the 11th floor ) the aircon on heat all the time unless I turned it off completely - the adjuster slide broken - so hot or off was the only option.

Bathroom - mix of new and old fittings. By the way be expected to wait an hour and call several times to reception when ordering an iron.

Mini Bar - better off popping next door to the garage for choice.

Views - apparently city views - I could see - a cemetary - flats - graffitti - oh and the petrol garage.

Breakfast - poor - no real sausage - just saveloy type rubbish, have to cook your own toast - not a major issue - generally poor.

However - I was not on holiday for the hotel !!! Just want people to know that even if your on a budget please don't compromise your standards - this hotel is far from the city - ok its not too far from the train / tram station - but I don't catch public transport at home so am not going to go n holiday and use public transport. Use AAA Taxis - very good and well priced - if you book from the hotel then its about double cause they get a cut and use unmarked cars.

Its an illusion that hotels closer to central Praha 1 are more expensive - Iwish I had done more homework as when I was out and about I noticed allot better places.

In summary - Unfriendly check in and check out, below par rooms, lazy service and a proper moody atmosphere all round - and definately not cheap for the money.
