The reasons for choosing this hotel was the close proximity to the exhibition centre, 5 mins walk and our company group rate of €50 per night for over 20 colleagues during the November 2011 Tabexpo, certainly not for its facilities. The hotel is clean and warm but really not a particularly welcoming place especially reception where if you are unlucky to get the more mature team it reminded me of the "intourist" service of the past.
The rooms are clean, warm and have been sort of modernised with mini bars but getting them opened and stocked involved persistence with both reception and house keeping, it is quicker (and cheaper) to go to the local shop across the street. Don't bother turning on the TV if you only speak English'
As the hotel really caters for large tourist groups (heaven help you if you get involved with one during check and check out) the breakfast is a large basic buffet which is not that appealing and always very busy. For other meals just eat elsewhere and there is a number of good local restaurants across the street.
If you do use the bar and restaurant beware that it is cash only, you cannot sign to your room.
To get into town is easy by tram or taxi but watch out for the taxi fares, beware to always agree a price beforehand.
