“fantastic restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

i can really recommend this hotel restaurant.
we ate there twice on 5th and 7th january 2012.
the quality was tremendous,as was the service.
The price was extremely reasonable, and the wine was of a good quality.
We both had fillet steak,on each occasion, with various sauces, such as cranberry or garlic.
I can say that i would certainly go there again at any future date.

Room Tip: did not stay at the hotel

“Close to the centre but in a quiet area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

In my opinion is one of the best ways to stay in Prague: close to the centre, nearby a park(Kampa island), restaurants nearby etc
The hotel has a very charming appearance. You can reach the hotel after a 45min ride from the airport(119 bus and after that the tram 20). The Ujezd station is right in front of the hotel. The room was clean and perfect for a couple. It had a small TV(CNN and Eurosport included). Nearby there is the Petrin funicular, a fruit shop(managed by a Asian family) and a supermarket(just across the street). In the other direction there are some restaurants.
The Charles bridge is at approx 10minutes by walking through a very nice park. We bought a 3 days public transport pass but we used only to and from the airport. The breakfast included fruits(pineapple, melon, bananas), cheeses, cereals and some salami. It was the same everyday. The hotel has also a garage in the basement. The guy at the reception was very nice and he gave us the room at 9 o'clock in the morning. The hotel has also a elevator

Room Tip: Be sure to have a room with the back view

“Really nice hotel, great location in central Prague”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

We stayed for 3 nights at U Krize Hotel in Prague (July 2011) and really enjoyed it. We used public transport just from and to the airport, as it is located within 10 minutes-walk to the very center of the city.
Really nice personnel! On the first day we got there early morning, at about 10 a.m. and the guy at the reception really tried to give us a pleasant, spacious and especially quiet room (the tram is right in front of the hotel entrance). When we left, there was also a nice girl who gave us directions as to how to get to the airport faster.
Clean room, bathroom, linen, towels. I don't remember how often/if they changed the towels.
Decent buffet brakfast.

Room Tip: Ask for quiet room, the street noise must be pretty annoying.

“Great place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

The rooms are more like apartments, at least the one I had! Very clean, especially the bathrooms. Only complaint, if you have more than 1 person in your room, the beds are setup lengthwise, so you're sleeping either head-to-head or foot-to-foot. My brother-in-law and his girlfriend had to switch their room because of this, but it was only a minor issue.

Great breakfast buffet and quiet at night, but I was in the in the inside courtyard section of the hotel, so that might have made a difference.

Great place to stay!

Room Tip: If you have more than one person in your party, make sure to ask how the beds are arranged and if th...

“Clean, central and cheap”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

Just returned from three nights in Prague and we were very pleased with the general quality of this B&B. Although the room was a little on the small side we were more than happy with it due to the high standard of cleanliness and the hotel's proximity to all the main sights and transport links.

From the airport we caught the 119 bus and then the number 20 tram to Ujezd which is about 20m (if that) from the Hotel U Krize. Transport links are extremely handy but if you are a light sleeper the trams can be a bit loud at night, but this would be the case in any hotel in the centre of Prague!

The hotel is just to the West of the river and so is within walking distance from the castle and other sights of the Old Town. Just across the river (a five/ten minute walk) is the National Theatre - where we managed to see the ballet for 110 crowns (around £4.50!)

Breakfast is a simple buffet - breads, cold meats, yoghurts, fruits, cheese, cereals, toasts, hot drinks and juices as well as sausages and scrambled eggs upon request. Couldn't fault this - great value for money.

We arrived at about 1am and the receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. We were happy with the service we received throughout our stay - the staff were all very welcoming and advised us upon which local bars and restaurants to try out.

The room was a bit stuffy at night and unfortunately the wooden staircase was quite loud in an evening as a few guests returned noisly at around 3am one night - but the hotel can't really help this!

Perfect for a short break - cheap, friendly, clean and accessible. Top tip for sightseeing in Prague - St Nicholas' Church - do not miss it! Extremely reasonable entrance fee and absolutely stunning interior.

Room Tip: For a quieter room specify that you would like a room at the back of the hotel.
