Just returned from three nights in Prague and we were very pleased with the general quality of this B&B. Although the room was a little on the small side we were more than happy with it due to the high standard of cleanliness and the hotel's proximity to all the main sights and transport links.
From the airport we caught the 119 bus and then the number 20 tram to Ujezd which is about 20m (if that) from the Hotel U Krize. Transport links are extremely handy but if you are a light sleeper the trams can be a bit loud at night, but this would be the case in any hotel in the centre of Prague!
The hotel is just to the West of the river and so is within walking distance from the castle and other sights of the Old Town. Just across the river (a five/ten minute walk) is the National Theatre - where we managed to see the ballet for 110 crowns (around £4.50!)
Breakfast is a simple buffet - breads, cold meats, yoghurts, fruits, cheese, cereals, toasts, hot drinks and juices as well as sausages and scrambled eggs upon request. Couldn't fault this - great value for money.
We arrived at about 1am and the receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. We were happy with the service we received throughout our stay - the staff were all very welcoming and advised us upon which local bars and restaurants to try out.
The room was a bit stuffy at night and unfortunately the wooden staircase was quite loud in an evening as a few guests returned noisly at around 3am one night - but the hotel can't really help this!
Perfect for a short break - cheap, friendly, clean and accessible. Top tip for sightseeing in Prague - St Nicholas' Church - do not miss it! Extremely reasonable entrance fee and absolutely stunning interior.
Room Tip: For a quieter room specify that you would like a room at the back of the hotel.
