As with many reviews previous to this one, you cannot beat the location of this hotel. Add the helpful staff, large rooms, decent breakfast and all at pricing that is on the budget scale (low season 89euro per night double room inc breakfast) it is a venue that is hard to beat. One small, and I mean small niggle, is that on the website they mention exchange services - this is NOT available at Hotel Lippert (formally Cerna Liska). It is now part of the same group as Metamorphis Hotel (Tyn Square) and I've stayed there many times. This time they were full and they recommended the sister hotel (obviously) . Overall, decent hotel and excellent value.

I doubt if it would be possible to beat this hotel for location, bedrooms and breakfast. You are on the Old Town Square next to St Nicholas Church (which has classical music concerts every evening). The bedrooms have beautiful painted ceilings and plenty of space. If you are lucky to be at the front of the hotel you have a great view of the, "Church of Our Lady before Tyn". The breakfast has a selecting of hot and cold food and of good quality. Lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by. There is also a computer with internet access for the customers use. I can't think of a negative? Even kept our luggage safe for a late departure at no cost.

My husband and I stayed three nights in this hotel during December 2011. I chose this hotel because of the reviews and its location. This was our first trip to Prague and we wanted to see the Christmas markets so this was a superb location, being right on the Old Town Square which is where one of the markets is. The market was small and quaint with some nice food and the best Christmas tree that we've ever seen.

The hotel is remarkably quiet for its location and the room we had was very large. Large bed, two night tables, one desk, mini fridge, two chairs and a table and that was just in the main bedroom area. Then there was a sort of lobby/dressing area right when you come through the door which consisted of a full length mirror and coat hooks as well as a large double wardrobe. the bathroom was also quiet large though only contained a stand up shower which was a bit snug but still ok for me and I'm just over 6 feet tall.

Everything was clean though slightly dated.

Breakfast was very good and had a great selection including varying hot items from day to day including bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs etc. There was also lovely bread, buns, cereals, fruit etc. There was more but I can't remember it all. The service staff in the breakfast room was of particular note, exceedingly friendly and attentive.

We will definitely be staying here again next time. For the price it's just the best, especially with breakfast included!

We chose this hotel because of the location, right on the Old Town Square. This is where the Christmas Markets were and we wanted to be close and were not disappointed by the hotels proximity. We were met by an uninterested male receptionist but during our 4 night stay we noticed they must do a 24 hour shift so we don't blame them one bit. We had trouble with the wifi straight off and mentioned this to reception the next morning as it was important that we had it. She seemed quite defensive about it and we asked to be moved if another room had better reception. She said she would ask the manager and was told he would fix it by the evening. True to their word, with some fiddling around, we had it working for the rest of our stay. So a word of advice, be persistent in getting them to get it working as it seems to be that each floor has it's own wifi log on. The room was quite big for the three of us. Everything was relatively clean in the room but the bathroom, especially the toilet needed some attention. The place needs a bit of a spruce but for the money it was good. The breakfast was ok. All the usuals were there, cereals, yogurts, breads, cheeses, meats, scrambled/fried eggs, sausages etc. Cake was also on the breakfast menu and they were yum. The kitchen staff were excellent and attentive. They were prompt in asking whether we wanted coffee or tea and hot chocolate for our son. They were all happy and smiling and pretty!!
