Stayed here just 2 nights recently and having paid approximately £35 per night (including buffet breakfast) via Expedia found it to be excellent value. Single room on 5th floor wasn't large but view from dorma window was pleasant. Very modern air conditioning unit with remote control efficiently cooled room in minutes. There was no noise during the night: couldn't hear neighbours or street. Never had to wait more than a few seconds for either of 2 lifts to arrive. Buffet breakfast was very good and staff helpful. Wifi is only available in lobby and 1st floor, so if you want internet in room has to be paid for (currently 5 euros for 1 hour) via ethernet cable (supplied). Only drawback is location, but town centre easily reached by trams (4 stops) on nos 5 or 9. Cost 18CZK. Difficult to beat the value for money here in my opinion.

Please note the hotel has withdrawn restaurant facilities apart from breakfast, which is still of the same high standard. There are dozens of restaurants nearby, less than 5 minutes by foot, which means it has become uneconomical to provide a full dinner service.

On a positive note, the room rates have reduced even further, internet access is now free of charge and the rooms have been equipped with a Nespresso coffee maker.

Don't be put off by this hotel's location. It's about a 20 minute walk from the centre, or 5 minutes by tram. The nearest tram stop is 2 minues away and the trams seems to run every few minutes (including through the night). The nearest Metro (underground) station is about 8 minutes walk and has a fast direct service to the castle.

There are some bars and good restaurants nearby which are laregly frequented by locals (always a good sign). Importantly, the local restaurant prices are about 1/3 what you would expect to pay in the crowded central restaurants.

Breakfast is buffet style with lots of choice and the staff were helpful and friendly. There is a sauna and steam room in the basement. This operates in the continental fashion - i.e. there is a common open changing area and shower, and you are expected to use the facilities "au naturel". Not a problem unless you are particularly shy!"

We just returned from a 3-night stay at this hotel. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and accomodating and the lobby is beautiful. The breakfast is decent and there's a lot of variety to choose from. While in a residential area, the hotel is located only a short walk from the tram and it's a quick and easy ride into town. The negatives were noise, uncomfortable beds, and no air conditioning except on the 5th floor (which was fully booked when we arrived). Make sure to ask for a room that's not on the street! We switched rooms after the first night because it was impossible to sleep. Overall, it was fine for the amount of time we stayed but I wouldn't stay here on my next trip.
