“Great service from staff!”

It was my first time in praha, flying from Rome, in may 2011. There was in the hotel a VIP person and the hotel kept running as usual, to make confortable our stay as well as the other guests. The savoy has a good spa, nice restaurant and bar. Nice and fairly priced food. It is located in the hill near to the castle, you'll have to walk downtown. The way down is has beautiful. Praha's people keep their tradition and they are not very charm in their relationships with foreingers, so don't be surprised by this issue. Always carry some cash, compare before selecting a restaurant, simple is not equivalent to cheap. Try goulash is delicious!

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We stayed at the Savoy for 2 nights in December as part of an Insight Tour.

As part of a tour, we did not have to worry about check in as that was handled by the tour director.

Our room was on the 5th floor, and the layout is a bit quirky. Our room was 501, at the end of the corridor, but beware this room. The room is large, with mini bar, contents of which are included in the price. TV was an old fashioned TV.

The big shock in this rom came when we opened the bathroom door. The bathroom is not much bigger than the seperate toilet. It is narrow, with a shower cubicle, and a basin. The seperate shower room and toilet is a great idea, but that bathroom!!! When we spoke to other people on the tour they were raving about their bathrooms!!! I feel we were short changed.

As part of the tour, one dinner was included. It adequate, but the supposedly included tea and coffee was charged for, which we did not unfortunately take up with management.

The hotel is located fairly well with a tram station right outside, so one can get around really easy.

I feel the hotel, while adequate is not up to Insight standards.

Room Tip: Avoid room 501

“Decoratively huge!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Just a few blocks from the castle, the Hotel Savoy welcomes you with a modern lobby. The guest rooms are richly decorated and boast every amenity as well as spacious marble bathrooms. The beds are consistently huge, which is in contrast to the customary central European style of two twin beds shoved together. The pleasant staff provides an attention to detail that’s a cut above that at most hotels in Prague. Its restaurant is excellent

“Very satisfied”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We stayed at the Savoy Prague (now called Golden Tulip Savoy) on New Year's Eve. I like the hotel's location near the Castle District - it's quiet but easy walking distance from the sights. Staff was very friendly. The room is large and in very good condition. Minibar is free although the selection is very limited (beer, water, local soft drinks). There is a separate bathroom and toilet and the bathroom is large and has both a bathtub and a shower. The wellness area is small but adequate with a jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna. Breakfast was excellent. Altogether a very satisfying stay and in my opinion the hotel is up to a 5-star standard.
