We've just come back from the Red & Blue Hotel and I had to review the great service we received. All the staff are so helpful and courteous. The ladies on reception went out of their way to sort a problem in the room with the fridge when we checked in, even letting us pick a different room to stay in until the problem was resolved.
Every room is slightly different (I got to peek in a few!) and we were given an executive room which was very spacious.
The location is perfect, lovely and quiet; ideal for Petrin Park and the Castle (same side of the river) and only 10mins walk away from the hustle and bustle of Charles Bridge and the Old Square on the other side. I intended to buy a 3 day travel pass but we walked everywhere instead, which we found was the best way to explore the city (even in -12 degrees!).
On the last day we got the nearby funicular railway to the top of Petrin hill then had a leisurely walk down to the tower, monastery and castle, stopping off for hot wine and grog on the way to warm up! A much easier trip than trying to stuggle up the steep stairs and slopes from the town!
We also had a night at the Opera to see La Traviata, I have never been to see an opera before, the State Opera House is stunning and tickets were so cheap it was a wonderful thing to do in Prague
Vegetarians don't get much choice on traditional Prague menus though-be prepared for lots of fried cheese and potato soup! (or stick to more European restaurants-we had the nicest meal of our stay in the Artisan at the bottom of the hill) But the beer everywhere is excellent!
It's a lovely romantic chic hotel and we would definitely stay there again.
Room Tip: Rooms at the front look across the road to the park, but are slighlty smaller. Rooms at the back lo...
