“3 Night winter break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We took a Lastminute.com 3night 4 day mid week break to Prague. Flew Wizzair and selected a Top Secret Hotel option (not quite so secret as you can work it out) upgraded the room to include breakfast. Flights from Luton B+B two adults sharing total £300.58.

We used the bus and tram option from the airport which was very straight forward and no problem at all. We purchased the three day all inclusive travel ticket at the public transport office at the airport Kr310 each. Do remember to stamp the ticket the first time you use it as you enter the bus otherwise it is not valid and they do have unforgiving inspectors issuing fines around the Kr1000. This ticket will last for 72 hours on all the transport options and is great value (£3 a day)

The hotel is situated up the hill on the left from the Pohorelec tram stop on the No 22 line. It is tucked down the first left hand lane through a small arched gateway. The hotel was virtually empty and Prague was quiet which as far as we were concerned suited us down to the ground.

The hotel is excellent value and easily 4/5star. As all hotels food and drink is expensive (x3) compared to the surrounding eateries and bars, you need to get out and experience the local fares. Breakfast has all you would expect, something for everyone what ever your taste. We found the location ideal walking distance from the castle and palace even the town if you wanted to, alternatively number 22 tram will link to the whole city with plenty to see and do, and, within no time you will be hopping trams and metros as it is so simple and efficient.

The staff are courteous and professional and considering it was snowing and minus 16*C nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were comfortable and spotless. Great place.

“Don't let the location put you off”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

We booked this as a secret hotel from lastminute.com and were a bit worried it was at the top of a big hill. The walk down into town took 10 mins to Charles bridge or 20 mins to the old square. Beautiful views all the way. The tram then takes the strain back up the hill for less than £1. The hotel have a stack of tickets and charge to room which was great.
Room was bigger and better than expected. Quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful albeit some of the cooked food was not that warm.
First night we arrived late and the local restaurants had stopped serving so ate at hotel. Food was ok, but expensive for Prague and drinks 3-5 times prices in town.
The airport taxi transfer is worth every penny as it made life so easy and meant we could enjoy more of our trip.

Quaint hotel in converted part of the monastery. Walking distance to world's largest midevil castle still in operation. Hotel is nice not amazing but the location makes it worth the stay if you want to explore that side of the river.

“Wonderful historic and peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Prague can be really busy, but this wonderful hotel up above Prague, near the castle is the perfect place to stay. We found the staff to be really friendly, the rooms large and very well furnished and the public areas lovely. One of the best hotels we have stayed in. It is a 10 minute walk to the centre of Prague, down a very steep hill. If you don't fancy the walk back (although there are plenty of little bars to stop in!) there is a tram back from the centre to the hotel. The hotel is next to an old monastry with great grounds and views over Prage plus a brew pub. Really enjoyed our stay.

“Romantic stay in Prague - this is for you”

We are not used to staying in hotel chains but we stayed there for a special weekend and this was truly perfect for a romantic break!
The staff was very friendly and helpful, good rooms with wifi and flat screen tv, classical music at breakast, great buffet breakfast that you can take outside on the patio.
the location was perfect. Next to the monastery on top of the hill above the castle. The view are amazing from the monastery,s restaurant/ cafe! It's a 15 min tram ride to mala strana and the otherside of the river but perfect for romance. The castle area is also great for stroling around from the hotel and you can also walk down to the river through the park.

Room Tip: Our room above the entrance courtyard had view over the monastery. Very quiet. Not sure about the vi...
