We clearly took advantage of the same weekend offer as the previous reviewer...and probably every guest in the hotel.
On the plus side the Russian sparkling wine awaiting us in our room was a nice touch and the dinner for two included in the offer with a decent bottle of Moravian white was fine. The receptionist/ waitress was very pleasant, and did an excellent job considering she was kept very busy.
On the downside, we were among the last to arriíve and no doubt drew the short straw as far as our room was concerned; it was cramped and cold and the bathroom heater did not work. The dinner we paid for the first evening was mediocre. Worst of all is that on a bitterly cold evening the radiators in the restaurant were stone cold and noone had thought to light a fire in the open fireplace...Things were better on the Saturday, at least.
The hotel is clearly suited most to young people and its location adjacent to the ski slope makes it a decent bet for winter sports weekends. We would not recommend it for spa treatment holidays.
Marianske Lazne is a delightful town in a beautiful setting. There is much to please those interested in architecture, the parks are unrivalled in the Czech Republic, and there are some lovely walks in the surrounding wooded hills.
For a very good lunch try the Park restaurant just to the South of the spa area...
The offer that brought us to the hotel offered very good value. It's just a pity the generosity did not extend to one of the basics-decent heating.
