Firstly the good things; decent location, (walkable to main bit of town), inexpensive (worked out for us around £30 per night and we stayed 3 nights). Restuarant in the hotel was great.
Now the bad things. Well put simply - don't expect much. It's not a posh hotel or expensive. In the whole three days we were there - our room wasn't cleaned. In fact when we arrived we had to ask for clean bedding since the sheet was filthy and unchanged.
Towels are tiny STAINED yuck and made of sand paper (so bring your own towels if you stay here).
The whole place is shabby to be honest. Everything is in need of repair / desparate re-decoration. The bathroom stunk, it had mould on the ceiling, filthy grouting on the tiles, a broken door base that was pretty lethal if you tripped on it. No safe in the room, or even a full length mirror.
I think if you stay in this hotel - just don't have high expectations. I think having spoken to some other guests there I can say we got off lightly since at least our room had a working shower. (Some didn't). And some were incredibly noisy.
It's also not 24hour check in (really fair enough at these prices) but rather annoying if you need to speak to staff outside usual working hours.
So as said, basic but it's fine if basic is all you need.
