The hotel is new/just renovated and clean. The room was spacious and nicely furnished. The beds were very comfortable. (Yes, two separate beds though booked a double room.)
The wellness department was a nice surpise; the sauna was a proper sauna, almost like in Finland.
Some staff members were friendly and their English was good. Some did not speak any foreign languages which led to some misuderstandings. They for instance forgot to tell us that the sauna was not included in the room price the second day as it was weekend (Fri-Sun).
At first we liked the hotel so much we decided to stay another night. It was a great surpise (and not a nice one) for us that they did not clean our room at all the second day. Coming back from seeing the lovely medieval city center (Unesco World heritage) we expected that beds would have been made, the bathroom cleaned etc. We had to go downstairs to ask for toilet paper and some new towels. They were brought to our room but nothing else was done. Should not then the second night also be cheaper than the first?
The breakfast was a bit disappointing regarding the quality/standard of the hotel. The breakfast staff was the most disappointing part - smoking outside at 8 a.m. when the breakfast started so that people had to wait for them to bring the fodd and drinks to the kind of buffet.
Medieval style restaurant very nice though serving very heavy dishes, as they often do in Eastern parts of Central Europe. The restaurant staff was very competent.
