Yes, this hotel is really the worst place I've been in my life. And I paid for one night 59€. The information they give in internet is totally erroneous. it's a pity that I didn't take photos from the hotel.

First of all, it's not a Hotel, it's a pension. And a sad, dark and over-paid pension.

In the breakfast room, all the glasses, forks, plates, etc are different. I had breakfast with a fork that say "Hotel Thermal" (a big hotel of Karlovy Vary).

Please, if you are thinking on going to Karlovy Vary, try to choose another place.

Kucera was a lovely hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful!

We stayed at the Hotel Kucera for one night in August. From its exterior photo on the internet, it looked to be quite charming. The location was excellent, and the price was about 30-50% less than most other properties we could find in Karlovy Vary. Well... you get what you pay for! Sure enough, the hotel is right in the center of the old town. The exterior is charming, but in a slightly run down kind of way. The people at the front desk were very friendly and spoke excellent English. Most of the hotel's patrons seemed to be Russians or Czech citizens. We were given their "deluxe" room (I think there's only one of those). It was a very large room with a very large bathroom (with shower only). It was very clean, but appeared to have been decorated in the late 1970's. It was a bizarre contrast of the old and the not-so-new: 70's formica bed underneath an ornate plaster ceiling and crystal chandelier! Very bizarre... There were two sets of huge french doors that opened up to the street below, and it was very nice to nap to the sound of the horse carriages clopping by. Breakfast the next day was satisfactory, although it was a little awkward eating in such a tiny room surrounded by Russian senior citizens (I think the average age of a visitor to Karlovy Vary is 75!). Overall it wasn't bad for the price, but I think next time I'll splurge and stay at swanky Grandhotel Pupp!
