We stayed only one night at Hotel Konvice in June - had the 2 room suite with a beautiful view of the castle tower - especially in the evening. After walking around the town exploring all afternoon we had dinner on the outdoor terrace - fantastic crispy roast duck and dumplings -one of the best meals of our trip. Breakfast was satisfactory - enough to keep us content for the trip to Vienna on the shuttle which picked us up at the door. Excellent value for the money - if arriving from Prague on Student Agency bus make sure you get off at the right stop - we had a long walk over cobblestones with our bags!

We enjoyed our off-season visit to Cesky Krumlov, which must be packed with tourists at other times of year. The hotel was good value, well-located (though the driving/parking situation is tricky, to say the least) and friendly. We had a family room of sorts, with a separate room for our son. Spacious, traditional Central European feel.

The Hotel Konvice in Cesky Krumlov is a great old world hotel on the main street into the old town.

The inside is a warren of stairs and rooms, but the actual room we had was large and very comfortable, and exactly as it was portrayed on the hotel's website. Out our window we had a perfect view of the tower of the castle lit up at night.

The hotel gives bed and breakfast in the room rate, and the breakfast is in the hotel's restaurant, a cosy , long room, which has rooms upstairs for party size groups, as well as a garden patio in an inner courtyard. the breakfast was a small but plentiful buffet, with hot dishes made to order, and very good coffee.

The restaurant had wonderful food, and the waiters were very cheerful and enjoyed exchanging small comments. We thought we'd try a different restaurant on our second night, but it was raining very heavily, and the smells from the kitchen made it impossible to leave. We were not disappointed!
They specialize in local dishes, presented nicely and tasting wonderful.
I fell in love with Czech potato soup!

Everything in this hotel is geared to give the guest a true "middle ages" feel, in a town that has been preserved beautifully.

Lovely hotel, centrally located, well-appointed and comfortable yet old-style rooms, superior wi-fi, friendly and helpful staff, first-class breakfast, great restaurant. For us, the best: pastry and palenka on the terrace in the afternoon.
