I don't know what the complaints are about this hotel. It is a GREAT location, right on the river across from the castle, the rooms are large, the bathrooms are large with full marble, comfortable beds, the breakfast is abundant. My only complaint is that the decor is a bit tired and fussy. If they got rid of the flowery drapes and bedspreads, the rooms would be much nicer. I looked at other hotels in Cesky while we where there and this is a much better value than the other places. Cheaper, bigger and nicer than the three other hotels we checked out. It is really value.

One night at the hotel was almost one too many.
Our room had certainly seen better days. The towel rail in the bathroom fell off the wall, the shower door had come off its rail, the hair dryer was broken. The worst part was the electric light switches in the bedroom, one fell out of the wall exposing the wiring and another was hanging on by a thread.The receptionist on duty put it back on with tape. In the morning after failing to get a booked alarm call I asked to see the manager, he refused to see me, at this point I said I was not prepared to pay my bill and he appeared and gave me a torrent of abuse. ( Not in English ) the receptionist translated for me.

I did eventually get a 10% reduction in my bill but will never stay there again.

the hotel has the best of locations: in the heart of town, near the small river, near the castle, near the bridge. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All the hotel has a little bit strange style of a kind of cheap golden chandeliers and so on. BUT - the rooms are enormous - the view the best any hotel can offer: you feel like you are in a kind of fairy tale surrounded by caslles churches narrow alleys. The price is reasonable, very clean. I do recomend it warmly. The only problem is the PARKING. Being in the centre of town - the hotel has a huge parking problem. It has a kind of arrangement wit a distant parking lot - but it is very complicated. Better to solve the parking problem alone in one of the general public parkings which are free at night.

The Dvorak Hotel is an older hotel but the location can't be beat as it sits right at the base of the castle. However, this is such a small town, that any hotel isn't located far from anything. Our only complaint is that the noise from people out and about (our room #205 - faced the street) kept us awake pretty much all night long. The windows are not insulated so the noise passes right through them. If you are a light sleeper, I suggest you request a room in the back of the hotel. Stay away from rooms ending in 05 or 06 on any floor. Breakfast is included in the rate and the check in process was seamless as we were assisted by a lovely young man who spoke perfect English.

Our room was a double. We had to move the two beds apart and separate them with a night table. They were comfortable enough although the pillows were thin and flimsy. The carpeting stained and worn and needs replacement but the bathroom was updated with a great shower, albeit small. Cable TV but no English language channels. The hotel has great wireless internet for free.
