Hotel rooms were average. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. understanding that you are in Europe. Desk staff was not very friendly, they need to understand that we are not slowing down their day to day business we "are" their business. The food in the restaurant was not impressive by any standards, the breakfast was almost not edible. You had the basic cold meats and cheeses. Pretty hard to mess that one up but the scrambled eggs were like water and the breads were not at all fresh. The location of the hotel is nice, close to the town square but not to close, a short, safe 10 minute walk. The town is known for it's budweis beer, the first bud beer brewery, no bud light in this town. The beers were on average 60 cdn cents per .5 liter mug. Not bad for some great tasting beer. There is also alittle mall one block up from the hotel with a small pharmacy and grocery store along with botique shops. Seemed to be a safe city to walk in but streets do get dark and quiet at night, a friend to walk with is probably not a bad idea. There is also a sports bar 50 feet from the hotel a nice place to have a night cap and the service was good, they were very appreciative of our tips, which is rare in most cities I have been to. They even walk away without even waiting for a tip but once they get it the 60 cent beers keep on coming.
