Value for Money at St James Court in Pondy, It is bang on the beach. They call it a Pvt Beach but accessible by fishermen and they will take you on a boat ride-If you tip them well. The resort is an average one with the food being the most awful part. The rooms are ok and the rooms facing the beach are good. The pool is a small baby pool and the restaurant at the beachside is an average one.

I have been visiting Pondy from chennai for years now - Well decided to stay with my wife for once just for relaxing !!!! This is an amazing nominal rated stay compared to other monstrocities in Pondy.It has good rooms, well maintained with view to the swimming pool and a nice walk to the nearby dry fish smelling beach.Please forget food from here,find a better place however , if you have your own transport,please stay here and visit other places with pleasure - you will not be dissapointed.

Service - Average performance here but you get what you want and service is just fine.

I am staying at the hotel resort after 15 yrs. What was cottages and duck pond has been transformed into a luxury hotel...with a swimming pool...The rooms are extremely comfortable for the rates... the food is excellent... This is one resort where they serve you everything that is mentioned on the menu card.. the bar is well stocked with all the finest including imported wines and the service is very good... The lawns with what I thought were Korean grass is a wonderful for a stroll... Special mention must be made of Mr. Arumugam the Food & beverages Manager and the Mr. Murugan at the reception desk... I am told that Foreigners with ther family's come and stay here for 3 to 4 weeks at a stretch.. breakfast is complementary and reasonably good...the roof top restaurant during the night is good place to have your dinner and the bar is on that floor... as it is about 8 kms from Pondicherry you can avoid the noise and bustle but visit most of the places in and around Pondichery from here.. Very peaceful place to spend ... and you will be surprised at the rates they charge.. The approach to the resort is a little ambiguous.. So u should make enquirers were to find the place though it is on the highway ... ......

PROS :: A place located on the ECR 7 kms from the Pondy city gives you the best location to relax and enjoy your time on the beach..
Budget rooms and the best part all sea facing rooms(Being a budget hotel,they didnt compromise on the cleanliness aspect of the room)
Loved the food in the hotel with very friendly and cordial staff memebers always willing to serve you better
Good calm environment around the place and good for couples
Closer to Auroville and right opposite to Pondicherry University
CONS :: Only disappointing part was the stinking smell of dry fish on the beach (Wish they allow fishermen to dry their fish far away from the hotel)
