I stayed here 16 years ago when it was just 5 small huts in the sand. What an extraordinary difference - The suite was superb, beautifully and simply decorated, 4 balconies! Excellent food and friendly service. The mature trees are a magnet for birds and there is a mesmerizing evening chorus from the minah birds thronging the canopy. Chinkara gazelles and Huge Nilgai "Blue bull" browsing in the dunes. We loved the village tour watching the blacksmith at work with his veiled wife (?) using leather bellows to stoke the furnace - something id seen in archaeological sites, but here it was alive and kicking. The main site was superb but the desert camp was something else. I cannot call the night under the stars anything but magical - sorry but its true! Blazing moon, leaping fires, camel herders and camels in the firelight - cold beer and delicious food. The "tent" was luxurious. To my amazement our driver remembered my name from all those years ago - HOW? I hope I haven't oversold Manvar but I was not expecting anything like this. Negatives? um... the souvenirs on sale are now remarkably expensive.
