“Our favorite place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

My husband and I have stayed here 3 times and we love it. We have stayed at other hotels in the area, but this is our favorite and we now only stay here. The beach is very nice and not crowded. The rooms are nice with very comfortable beds. Great view of the ocean from the balcony - we like the higher floors as they have better views. The pool area and grounds are very pretty and well taken care of. One of the best things about this hotel is the people who work there. Everyone we encountered always had a smile and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay It is close to the airport and you do hear planes when you are outside, but it didn't bother us at all and inside the room you barely heard them. We can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: oceanfront and pool side rooms on higher floors have the best views from the balcony

“Liked it a lot, but very close to airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Good beach, great pool, nice small hotel with a good atmosphere. Casino is small. Planes take off over the patio area. Food not great, decent value. Would consider a return trip here, or spend a little more to bump it to a 5-star resort.

Room Tip: Ocean view room was partially obscured

“Convenient to Airport”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Our room had a spectacular ocean view with a great balcony on a higher floor. Isla Verde beach and the pool were right below and planes took off and landed in front. The bed and room were very comfortable...nice chairs, good lighting for reading.

To get to the pool or beach you must pass through the busy lobby's reception area which includes the registration area, the cafe, and the adjacent bar. The pool is not heated. The beach has lots of people. Bands are loud but there is great dancing at all hours of the day and night.

Within a 10 minute walk there are restaurants, bars, and convenience stores.

Major problem, however, is noise. The hotel is directly across from the airport runway which makes the noise from the planes very loud from early morning to late evening. Sound proofing does not shut plane noise out. The room air conditioner is also a problem as its location allows your neighbors normal speaking voice to be heard in the room....annoying.

If you need to be close to the airport for your flight, Isla Verde is OK but there are so many other beautiful beaches and places to be in Puerto Rico, we recommend exploring elsewhere.

“My Weekend escapade at the Courtyard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

This is my first time staying in this hotel. I went with my wife for the weekend. The staff and the employees are friendly and willing to help you anyway they can. The hotel is clean, with 3 restaurants, casino, nice pool , including one for children and a very beatiful beach. The rooms are big and comfortable , with balcony looking at the beach. Even though the hotel is very near the Airport the rooms have double glass sliding door that keep most of the noise out. I had the chance to dine at the Sirena Restaurant which is located at a Terrace looking at the beach with was very relaxing and romantic. The food and service was great. Saturday night, is Salsa night at the bar. If your brave enough get few drinks an dance with the locals or you can stand in the sidelines and hear the music and admire the dancers. The hotel doesn't have a SPA, but the concierge was able to find us professional massage therapist that gave each one of us a one hour massage treatment for a very reasonable price. So we had great time at this hotel.

Now my advise to you; before you do a reservation ask about the Resort Fee that you are going to be charged and what it includes. Remember there is nothing "complimentary " at this hotel.

“Great hotel for vacation and business with great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This was my fifth or sixth time staying in this hotel for business, but my first review due to time. Among the choices in San Juan, this Courtyard offers a great package for the both the business person or those looking for a relaxing vacation. I usually request a high floor to enjoy the view, and I have been pleased with the rooms where I have stayed (even those with a partial view of the ocean). When I stayed last, I hit the jack pot as I enjoyed a special online package that included a US$50.00 debit card, US$50.00 toward a rental, and free breakfast (I stayed for a five days).

The hotel is easily accessible from/to the airport (10 minutes) and, once in the rooms, one hardly hears the airplanes landing or the casino on the first floor of the hotel. The windows have a triple seal of glass that keep the rooms quiet. The beds are very comfortable and the furniture is well kept. Access to the beach and the chance to jog for miles and miles, should not be take from granted as this is one of the few hotels that offer that kind of perk in San Juan.

On the business side of things, I can comment:

* Excellent wireless connectivity within the room and public areas
* The hotel has a set of business rooms, which are ideal for business people.
* Rooms are roomy and well organized, the desk is wide as well as with plenty of outlets.
* There is a good supply of in-room coffee and tea at all times, for those like me who need to stay late working.
* The front desk staff, bell boys, and taxi drivers all are friendly and knowledgeable about the surroundings. The bell boys are always helpful, with a very pleasant personality despite the hour of the day.
* The taxi drivers can tell you up front the fares they will change you, but it always good to ask first as taking taxis can usually add up quickly. Overall they are committed to offer a good service or to take you from place to place, if one informs them on time.
* The business center is fine and the staff is available when needed.
* The check in and check out is always fine, without funny charges.
* The gym, which is at walking distance in a separated building, offers a good selection of machines, dumbbells, and cardio machines. It is very good and included at not additional fee.
* The hotel is at walking distance, 10 minutes, to a large group of restaurants and additional hotels. It is safe to walk in the area, and prices range according to the taste.

CONS -

So far I can not think about any major issue that needs to be highlighted, ah! Sure, there is a resort fee that ones need to pay which is not out of proportion.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has business around Isla Verde, San Juan, Rio Piedras, Santurce, Carolina, and Cupey.

Room Tip: Whenever you can, check out the web site prior to booking directly for any business or seasonal spec...
