“beautiful spain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2007

We have just returned from a two week driving holiday through spain and were fortunate enough to stay with Phil and Nicky in Alpandiere. The house was beautiful and the village very friendly, even though we spoke little Spanish.
We drove from Scotland down to southern Spain and to be honest the first place we wanted to stop was the mountains just south of Ronda.
Alpandeire is a beautifull location with tons of fantastic walks from an hour to a full day. We found that Phil and Nickys local knowledge was a great help.
We saw Griffon Vulchers and a Short Toed Eagle amongst many other things. It was great to have Phil and Nicky as our hosts as they could point us in the right direction for whatever we required.
We would reccomend staying here if you want something peacefull and local but also only an hour and a quarter from the costas. A great base for a really Spanish Holiday with plenty to do, or if you prefer, absolutely nothing to do!!!

“Outstanding B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2006

We stayed for 2 nights with our 20 month old baby. The B&B is in a peaceful, unspoiled, and beautiful small village about 20-25 minutes drive from Ronda. Owners are English speakers, very friendly and good source of information for local places of interest. Cot was provided for our baby, rooms was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The small village has an excellent restaurant and several bars. Make sure you park behind the Church and don't attempt to drive your car into the narrow village alleyways.

“A delightful haven”

Set in one those delightful white-washed villages deep in the heart of the mountains of the Sierra de Ronda, Casa del llanete is the sort of place that you may have been hoping to find.
It is part of, and in the heart of, ths quaint village with its steep streets, and absolutely no through traffic, the Casa has superb views out over the countryside from its restful terrace.
We only planned to stay a night or two, but stayed much longer until we had to move on, enjoying the walking, the beautiful wild flowers on the mountainside, the scent of orange blossom down in the valleys, the being part of the village, and the superb hospitality of Nicky and Phil. We look forward to returning and hopefully taking up one of the fascinating courses they are offering in house.
Love it!

“Peace, birds and walks”

We loved the village and Nicky and Phil were so helpful with local information. The holiday felt very informal, they are very easy going and flexible and the house is lovely. We loved the local walks and the bird watching was great and due to get even better in April. For anyone wanting to draw or paint Nicky is the most generous and helpful teacher and takes away the fear.

“A little gem!”

The house is lovely with a very warm and peaceful atmosphere. Don't come here if you want a rave up..it's not that sort of place but do come here if you want to sample real Spain in a lovely village where after a while you feel like a local.
Nicky and Phil were welcoming and did everything to facilitate a wonderful restorative holiday. They have prepared lots of lovely walks ...none of which are difficult going...which will take you along rivers, through orange groves, along limestone cliffs and through beautiful countryside into other villages for a tapas lunch and then home again for a hot shower and a sundowner on their lovely sun terrace. If you don't want to be too energetic you can laze on the terrace or wander through the village, or if you fancy being artistic you can have a go at painting...even if you think you can't draw!
Having a car is useful as a trip to Ronda is a must and into the neighbouring villages to sample the restuarants, although there is a lovely hotel and a great tapas bar in the village.

The accomodation is comfortable, clean and welcoming. The breakfast will set you up for the day and the views are stunning!
