This is a lovely hotel run by an English family hosted by Elaine and Ian but very much a Spanish experience. The hotel is nicely decorated and furnished throughout with a variety of styles of bedroom, Rooms 2 & 3 have the balconies and other look out onto a terrace, each is indivdual in size & bathroom design which is a nice feature. The Hotel does light bites for lunch and a great evening meals expertly cooked by Ian, be that the local pork, a BBQ or a traditional paella. There is also a well stocked bar with some great cocktails very reasonably priced.
We visited in the height of summer when it was really hot and the one thing our room would have benefitted from was some air conditioning, we had a ceiling fan which moved the hot air around and made at times some strange and irritating noises, if you chose to leave the doors open to get the cool air of the night you were then at risk of waking to the sound of the early morning train which runs very close to the hotel, the line is just above the hotel and although trains do not pass too often they have a siren that warns of the train's imminent arrival plus then the sound of the train itself - which is significant noise.
The pool is a good depth and fair size and there are sunbeds and umbrellas, the sunbeds were not comfy and cushions were provided a nice improvement would be some nice wooden loungers with removalable cushions. One great thing is to save of packing, pool towels are provided, we have 2 sets to last the week which was ideal.
Elaine and Ian do everything to ensure you stay is as good as possible, suggestions of days out, hidden little gems in the vicinity.
The hotel itself is not situated within walking distant of Ronda and is just off a main trunk route so a car would be essential if you want to move around, the area around the hotel is very diverse with hidden caves, lakes, lagoons and of course the lovely town of Ronda.
We really enjoyed our stay, the few points above would make my experience change to 'Excellent'.
Room Tip: Ask for balcony room for a bit more privacy.
