We booked a room for one night after reading good reviews on Trip advisor. We were very disappointed both with the staff and our room. We received quite a frosty reception and were left to negioate the maze of corridors to our room, having to feel about for light switches in the dark. The room itself was basic and very, very tired. The bathroom was very smelly, even by Spanish standards. The bed was comfy enough but we had to ask for more pillows. {they came after a second request hours later} There was a tatty old blanket which we were scared to use. The tissue thin walls ensured we heard every footstep and visit to the bathroom from the guests in the surrounding rooms. Later in the evening we waited a full five minutes in the bar and were ignored by the staff and we eventually gave up. When we checked out we felt that the receptionist couldn't get rid of us quickly enough.
If it's just the view you're after {which is stunning} this hotel is for you.

We stayed here two nights. Don Miguel is Loooong in the tooth. This hotel needs some serious maintenance and repair.

It does have a great location, but I'm not sure it's worth what we paid compared to other hotels at the New Bridge...the terrazza is beautiful and it truly is directly at the New Bridge. The Parador would be another good choice, but more expensive.

Clean? Enough, but not the feel of clean to my taste.

The rooms were adequate size.

The beds were not very comfy, minimal back support, a bit lumpy, very close to feeling the springs I think. The blanket (one) was tattered and old, old, old...actually thread bare. True peasant living.

Front desk could be friendly and helpful or not, depending who was there.

No Wi fi in the rooms. Had to go down to the terrace cafe to get on the internet.

This hotel is the only hotel in town that is perched absolutely next to the New Bridge ("The" bridge) of Ronda that one might be able to have both the view of the gorgeous gorge and a parking space at a reasonable price (the other one might be the Parador across the street but not with this price). I am afraid of heights but yet the view is breathtaking it's so worth it, I am willing to sit outside once in a while.

To make it worth it, do insist on a room with a view of the gorge. Don't worry about the balcony it has an iron cage around it so you are not likely to slip down and be unheard off.
The rooms inside are decorated with chintz and flowered curtains but cute and clean. The bathroom is spartan indeed even if it's equipped with a hair dryer (bring your favorite shampoos and soaps) .

What we dislike is the complicate labyrinth of elevators (you go one floor down to go two more floors down to go to breakfast room ?) We also hate the moldy smell of one of the two elevators that we resort to stairs throughout our stay. The parking space is complicated too. To get there first gear yourself to the hotel then drive down the first street to the left of the hotel then with the receptionist opening the garage door for you, you back in the garage. Then leave the key with them. Large cars are not a problem provided there's no other large cars already inside.

To get out of town, we had the misfortune of being in Ronda during its many road constructions so we found ourselves going down a dirt road that gets narrower and narrower following a delivery truck to the main highway! (the driver is a nice local guy he made sure we followed him out before leaving us)


Still, it's the best price, best location and best view hands down. If you don't have the budget for the Parador, this place is a very good choice.

Hotel Don Miguel is perched atop the gorge in Ronda with a fantastic view of the New Bridge and the river below. The hotel is centrally located in Ronda and very convenient for sight seeing and restaurants. The rooms are clean (though not fancy) and the bathrooms have been recently updated and are modern and spacious. The hotel has a nearby parking garage at an affordable price (about 1/2 the price of in town lots) since free street parking can be hard to find. The food is decent in both the breakfast bar (included in the room price) and in the restaurant. The front desk staff was always very helpful to us and friendly while helping us with our vehicle, giving directions and recommendations. Would definitely recommend.
