My husband and I booked the Apartamentos el Polo at the last-minute, when we decided to amend our travel itinerary while in Spain. Seeing no reviews on tripadvisor, I admit I was a bit nervous, but the pictures looked decent and the price was right, so as we were only staying in Ronda for a night, we decided to chance it. Fortunately, we got lucky -- the apartment was beautiful -- especially considering the excellent price we got online for it! The apartments are run by the Hotel Polo, which is in the newer part of Ronda, so their front desk personnel are available to help apartment guests as wel. The apartments are in the older part, located on a quiet plaza right next to a cathedral and across from the police station, so you can imagine it's pretty quiet at night! The apartment we stayed at was very roomy (with the exception of the bathroom, but it was still a nice shower), with Moorish decor, a kitchenette (complete with washing machine), a living area and small dining table. The only downside was the beds were a bit uncomfortable (as were all the beds in the hotels we stayed at in Spain, so this seemed fairly typical) and the distance of the apartment from the train station (either take a cab or get ready for a long walk!).
Overall, we were extremely pleased with the apartments, both aesthetically and for the wonderful booking price we got (must be due to the off-season rates). Ronda itself is a beautiful place to visit -- would highly recommend spending at least a night there (or a day trip if overnight stay is not possible) when down in the Andalusian region of Spain. We ate one day at the Restaurante Duquesa de Parcent - which was not far from the apartment. It is located at 12 Tenorio -- phone is 952 87 19 65. They have breathtaking panoramic views from their terrace and the Menu of the Day is the best value.
Overall, I would recommend the Apartamentos el Polo.
