We arrived at the train station in Avignon at 9pm on a Saturday night and were absolutely unable to find a hotel in town. We were to the point of returning to the station and heading elsewhere when my husband did a search on his android phone and this little gem popped up, about 10 min. from the center of town. He called and they had one room left, which they held for us without a credit card until we arrived about half an hour later. We were met at the door with great hospitality and rushed to our room to settle in. Turns out Catherine & Dominique Cadou have owned the place just 3 weeks! Their kindness and enthusiasm was greatly appreciated. We slept like babies in our charming room with two twin beds, overlooking the pool. Breakfast was wonderful, French style with the best croissants ever, plus yogurts, jams, breads, cheeses, various cereals and hard boiled eggs. The owners' cousin, Frederick, was visiting and was extremely helpful in determining our next train schedule and even drove us to the train station. We wished only that we were not en route for a date in the Pyrenees and could have stayed a few days with these lovely people and enjoyed the attractive setting further. Thank you, again, Catherine, Dominique and Frederick!
