We have just come home after a very enjoyable holiday at the Altinkaya Holiday Village. After reading the reviews before we left home we did not quite know what to expect but were very pleasantly suprised at what we found. We arrived quite late at night but the restaurant happily supplied us with a meal.
We stayed in a Hotel room on the top floor at the back of the hotel which was very quiet and the views of the mountains and Abbey were wonderful.
The room was very comfortalble although did need a bit of a face-lift and the bathroom needed up-dating, the shower was pretty pathetic. The towels were changed daily and there was soap and shampoo supplied.
All the public areas of the hotel were excellent and there were always people in the hotel and bar areas. The cd collection did need widening, especially in the morning (if I hear Johnny Cash again I think I will scream!). The pool was spotless with plenty of sun beds supplied (although the matresses were a bit grubby). The gardens were very nice with olive trees around the restaurant/breakfast area.
All the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was adequate, although the same each day. We were half-board but only chose to eat in on about three evenings, there was a choice of main course, soup, salad buffet and sweet, all quite good.
If you are young you may not want to come to this hotel at this time of year, there were a few young people here but they must have felt a bit outnumbered. There is no lift in the hotel, so if you have a problem with stairs you may struggle.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week and would recommend the hotel for friendliness and relaxation.
