Cuenca is a wonderful town with many amazing sights. We spent only one night there in early May but you should plan for a two day stay to really appreciate this place. For abstract art lovers, don't miss the museum located in a famous hanging house. It is a breathtaking place with an amazing collection. A place to spend a good couple of hours. Walking around the town takes you up and down hills and to places with amazing vistas. A real treat all around.
The Leonor De Aquitania is very well located, and the view is amazing - the best in my stay in Spain. Drivers should not be deterred from going in that area. It is relatively easy to find the place, there is a convenient spot to unload the luggage. There is plenty of free parking up the hill. Maybe this will change once the crowds discover the place.
The rooms themselves are nothing special. The room we had was on the small size and the decor and furniture was quite tired - but everything was clean. The bathroom was functional. Without the view, I would not find the place so appealing. If you can get a room with a view, it is definitely worth it.
Staff was very nice but not very concerned by the noise we had to put up with. A group of teenagers was staying at the hotel, running up and down the hallways, screaming, throwing things out of windows. The person at the front desk seemed to think this was funny and quite endearing. I assume that the place would otherwise be very quiet at night.
This is a place I recommend for the view, the location and nice staff. Beware that the hotel books large groups.
