we arrived in Cuenca at 8 pm on our way to Barcelona from Madrid, without any reservations for lodging that night. We stopped at a few other hostales to check availability and this one gave us the nicest room for 3 for the best (not cheapest) price. The location is good, close to parking for our rental (we were paranoid something was going to happen to it, so it was relief to have it in an underground lot), and at the foot of the hill to the hanging houses. The road it is on is very noisy all night long, there is no AC in the room so you either sleep with the windows open and let noise in, or close them and deal with the heat. The room we were in (102) had 3 comfortable beds, the bathroom was large and clean. The hostel is charming, but nothing fancy. You can only pay with cash, which they let us do the next day when we checked out. The staff is friendly, there is a nice lounge area with computers and library, but no breakfast. There is wifi, which is always a plus when traveling.
