The first thing that may surprise you when arriving at the Verimar, is that there is nobody at the reception...You'll have to search for the Hotel Manaus, in order to get your keys. This will also be the place to get your breakfest. In July/August the hotel was full of young people, mostly germans had only one goal: go out, get drunk, come back at 5 o'clock and start operation chaos: throwing chairs out of the windows, bottles, destroying items, burning items, etc. And of course waking up the whole hotel.
As there is no reception, nobody will stop them and although complaints are being heard by the Manaus team, nothing is really done to stop the chaos. Noone is really responsible for anything happening over there. It must be even more economic to repair the mess than to employ a guard.
If you start your day by saying "i want to get drunk tonight and bother people, destroy my hotel", then this is the right choice for you. Otherwise, pay a bit more and get a descent hotel.

I got this as a late deal and having used reviews before to pick my holidays I realised that maybe people just like complaining and getting a lot more than what they paid for. This is a cheap hotel but I guess having looked it up you would know this. However I found the rooms to be basic but clean with a small balcony, The bathroon again was basic and I had no problems with the temperature of the water. There are no lifts and if you are on the top floor you may find this annoying but the 1st and second floor it is not a big problem to climb.
The staff are friendly and I had no problem with them. The cleaners were fine and I think my room was cleaned most days but maybe the sheets werent changed the whole time I was there-7 days. I was also very pleased with the breakfast which you get in a nearby hotel which was rather nice as I did not expect much. Overall this was a cheap budget beach holiday which was safe and basic.
