“Great food and swimming pool”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2010

We stayed in this hotel for 8 nights with two young children and also had another room for our parents. The rooms were very small and the beds worn out. we were on the 2nd floor with a good view of the swimming pool but the railings on the balconies didn't look secure enough for our two young kids. The room for our parents had a leak around the toilets. They managed to change both our rooms next day to the ground floor. We were happy with our room as the kids had more space to play in the terrace. However as we were facing the swimming pool end, the noise from the music in the bar would be so loud in the evenings. This went on till 12am.

The rooms are nothing like the ones shown on the websites. They are all pretty much the same size just with different number of beds ie 4 single beds for quadruple rooms. Some of the mattresses had springs showing.

Apart from the room the actual hotel was great. The swimming pool was huge. The buffet was amazing. different food out each day. Also great if you’re a fish and a stake lover. The staff were kind enough to provide me with fresh milk in the evening for my kids. The staff were very helpful. The mini bust to the beach was great. Good holiday once we were settled in.

“Not a place for a long stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 June 2010

Stayed here for two nights. Situated in quiet residential area about 5 minutes from Central Roses/Rosas. Large, free, convenient carpark. Reception friendly, but full payment required in advance along with deposit for using phone and for TV remote-control. Very clean, huge pool and surrounds kept very clean and tidy. Outside poolside bar good service and reasonable prices. Room was large and light but neds reneovation - the cupboard doors were scratched and scruffy, there was a simple table, and one chair. The TV an old 15 inch one. Bathroom was modernised and good. We had our car, and this is essential to get to Roses - problem then is parking. Had only breakfast but the buffet included cooked, continental and healthy choices.

“Great holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2009

We really love Roses, and for the 2nd time we were in San Carlos. I must say the food at dinner was not so good as last year, breakfast is a little bit poor (everyone with children brings their own pot of 'Nutella') there were noisy tourist staying at the hotel but in general, it was good. You don't have to stay all day at the hotel, because there's not much to do, but just take the car and go down town, there's a lot of parking space and fun!!

“A Hotel for the Management”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2008

A wonderful Hotel, with problems. The Hotel is undergoing some extensions, and is still approached by a dirt road (12th May 2008) The pool area and pool bar are as good as you will find anywhere, not that the pool bar is always open, the pool is a swimmers pool, straight forward about 30 yards by 15 yards. Plenty of sun beds. The rooms whilst small for a double are acceptable. The hotel facilities, including indoor pool and gym, are fine and the resurant serves a basic but acceptable fair. The hotel is a way out of the Roses area, and taxi will charge between 12 and 15 euro's. Where does the hotel lose out, simply the management, they leave the staff (who are more than helpful were allowed to be) to run the hotel for the management, not the customers. Having spoken to all the staff on duty on evening about trying to get one glass of white wine for my wife at the indoor bar, I finally got the response, the next day from one of the hotel directors that we dont serve wine in the bar, or Sherry (In Spain) or many other drinks. I have never had to listen to the bar staff say no to customers so many times in any other hotel. Ask for anything that hotel does not agree with, and you are told sorry thats not available. THIS HOTEL IS RUN BY MANAGEMENT FOR MANAGEMENT AND NOT THE CUSTOMERS. A pity really as the hotel could be so good but the old adage the customer is always right even if they are wrong does not happen at this hotel, the saying here is, the customer is always wrong, and must do it the way we the management decide not at all, a bit like Basil Fawlty.

“12 Euros from anywhere !!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2007

Firstly had issue trying to make a reservation, called 3 times only to be cut off, sent a reservation request via internet .... no reply !!

The hotel was very clean, tidy and had a great pool.....however its located within a villa complex that has no shops, bars or anything except more villas.

The hotel is about 12 euros from the centre of roses and this is where you have to go for anything. so you get a bit miffed keep paying out 12Euros to get anywhere !!!!

and you have to travel because the hotel closes all bars, cafe and restaraunts between 1600 and 1800hrs everyday..there is nowhere to buy even water !!!! not good when you have been worshipping the sun all day ..

You should really consider booking a hotel in the town centre not out in the sticks.....

  • Liked — a great pool
  • Disliked — the location....... out in the sticks
