I meant to submit this review ages ago! My husband and I stayed here for one week 2-9 Sept 2011 and were very impressed. The location is perfect, away from the crowds and surrounded by lovely established villas (would love to own one).
The service is excellent - we particularly liked eating breakfast & dinner on the outside terrrace and the waiting team there were lovely and good fun. They seem to really enjoy their job and work well together. We didn't mind waiting at the bar tables next to the terrace if there were no tables available. We usually had a bottle of wine with the evening meal as wine by the glass wasn't served, but this was fine with a nice relaxing (5 courses sometimes) meal. The food was delicious and with a good variety to choose from. My husband also enjoyed the CAVA at breakfast mixed sometimes with the different fruit juices on offer.
The nearby beach is OK (€12 for 2 beds & 1 parasol) but we spent most days on the hotel beach. This is not beautiful, but adequate for comfortable sunbathing (€8 for 2 beds & 1 parasol) and steps down into refreshing sea. We also swam out to the 'platform' for our exercise.
We hired a car for one day as I wanted to show my husband my childhood haunts of Formentor beach and Puerto Pollensa. It took about an hours drive. On the way back we drove via Cala Bona and Cala Millor and I was so pleased to be going back to Costa de los Pinos which is much more my cup of tea.
The hotel room was very comfortable, yes the colour scheme was a bit 80's but this didn't bother us at all. We had all that we needed and a nice private balcony (room 742 - top floor).
We will definately go back to this hotel at some point, it was a lovely experience and only 2.5hrs from home.
