Have just returned from the Nestor. This was the third year in a row. The second year we went our daughters and their partners came on our recommendation. Each year we have booked to go back as soon as we have got back home. This year on arrival we were allocated a room which we found very sub-standard to the rooms we, and our daughters, had previously stayed in. It had an inter-connecting door with the room next door. After four nights of disturbed sleep, having been woken at 3 30am by the guests next door, we asked to move so we upgraded to a pool view room and immediately realised this was of a standard we had had previously. The Reception Staff were very helpful in this respect and did ask why we wanted to move. We told them we were disappointed with the room, especially the fact it had an interconnecting door where you could hear everything and that our sleep was being disturbed by the younger guests returning from the clubs between 3 30 and 4am. There is no mention in the Thomson brochure or the website that you may be allocated an interconnecting room, which isn't suitable for couples of different ages and lifestyles to occupy at the same time. We could understand if you were allocated this type of room if you had made a last minute booking at a cheaper rate, rather than booking a good year earlier and paying full price. We had emailed the Hotel a few weeks before we were due, as we had done the year before, informing them of the number of the room we have previously stayed in and asked if at all possible we could have a room close by, but stated that we understood it may not be possible. They replied and said they would try their best.
All the Staff in the Hotel are fantastic and we found the service excellent. Large selection of food for both breakfast and evening meal. Great location for the beach, harbour and coastal path to walk to Nissi beach. In the evening you won't be disturbed by the noise of the clubs (only the guests coming back!!) as the Hotel is a good 20min walk away.
Hotel seems to be mainly occupied by Russians who, each year, we have found ignorant and arrogant not only to guests but to the staff,
Have noticed from the Thomson website that this Hotel has gone all inclusive next year, which has massively increased the price of the holiday for us. We would like to go back again but not on that basis. Great shame about this as I am sure it has put the price out of reach of other British holidaymakers, especially in today's economic climate
