“not good at all”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2010

On first inspection looked not too bad. No kettle or toaster which we found strange as it was supposed to be self catering.Arrived at night so didnt notice the ants thousands of them. The following night we came in to be greeted by cockroaches BIG ONES.Sheets clean enough but top covers were dirty .Rooms were not cleaned properly and the dirty mop bucket was left outside our door all week. Should have been 18 to 30s as they were in the pool with the covers off the sunbeds and were smoking and drinking in the pool also bad language. Definetly not for us or anyone with a family.Never again.

“Cheap and cheeful!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

Read some terrible reviews of this place and really have to say I had a lovely holiday here!

Location is ideal - far enough away from the strip to not get too much noise from the street but just about a 2 minute walk away from all the nightlife! Hotel bar was quiet but the service was excellent and the cocktails were cheap (I also think there was a happy hour where all cocktails were only 1.50 cypriate pounds each!)

Room was basic and dated, but reasonably clean. The balcony was quite small but private. We didn't do any cooking but the kitchen facilities were quite poor. We took a travel kettle with us as we suspected one would not be supplied (and it wasn't!)

The biggest downside to Euronapa was the cheeky add-ons. Air conditioning was paid for additionally at reception (quite a hefty charge per day). We paid for the whole week but on two occasions we came back to our room and found it was boiling hot and had to complain to reception - on both occasions they immediately switched it back on and apologised, but is was quite inconvenient.

Also there weren't many parasols around the pool so shade was difficult to find - the pool snack-bar is in the shade and we spent quite a lot of time cooling off in there!

Ultimately, as with all holiday accommodation - you get what you pay for! This holiday was very cheap and the apartment was basic but comfortable and all you really need as a central crash-pad for exploring Ayia Napa!

“For people wjo want to explore outside the hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2010

Went to Ayia Napa with 6 friends, 3 stayed in a room upstairs and the other 4 of us in a room downstairs. When we first arived as a group we were given rooms on the bottom floor next to each other. We almost immediately had to be separated as one of the rooms electricity wasn't working at all and the room as a whole was old and dilapidated. So after this first immpression 3 of my friends were moved upstairs. The room upstairs seemed a lot better but our room downstairs greeted us with 3 cockroaches which we were told by Toldor, a worker at the hotel 'you're in Cyprus, of course there are cockroaches'. We were not content with that answer of course so he had 2 come in and spray our room out every other day with a repelant which forced us 2 stay out even if we wanted a night in because we would suffocate along with the cockroaches. Waking up with dead cockroaches in the morning on the floor wasn't too pleasant either. No kinds of entertainment within the hotel but OK if your there just as somewhere to get away from the hectic nightlife. The sheets even when changed daily always smelled dusty and twice over the 2weeks we stayed had stains on them.

On the plus side the rest of the staff seemed very polite. Happy hour at the hotel is great and affordable. Mohammed the barman can make anything and anyway you like it. The pool is lovely for somewhere to chill, never overcrowded. You can use the washing machine and dryer 4 a few euros if you need to but didn't need to because we all bought more than enough clothes. The location is great!! Only a 5-10 walk from the strip, depending on how fast you walk. The restaurant only sells things like ham and cheese toasties, no 'real' food but a short walk out of the hotel is a range of restaurants or if you're looking for a taste of home there's mc donalds and pizza hut which are a little further away. Quite far from Nissi beach and waterworld so we had to take taxis. Would recommend to teenage/early 20s holiday makers.

“more of an english resort but had good stay anyway”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2010

when i read the reviews before i went i was afraid to tell my boyfriend..! but it wasnt anywhere near as bad as some people made it out. there were no bugs what-so-ever and the place was really clean. Air con was a blessing. close to the square and quad shop only up the road. really enjoyed it... only one problem... they wouldnt let us stay late on departure (even though we offered to pay) and left us sweating in the lobby with no air-con or fans for hours...

“OMG never again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2010

I would never believe a hotel like this could be that price for the service they were offering. We had cats come in our room and jump on our table and beds, which made it even worse was that one of my friends is actually allergic to cats. Another group of friends who had a different room had to move because they had a really bad ant problem. They moved to the second floor and funny enough the cats still managed to spot when their door was open and invaded there room too.

The maids assigned to my room were nice but didn't do the best job in the world. As I went with a group of 9 girls all 19yrs old we obviously wanted to party, but the maid would come into our room while we were sleeping sometimes and mop the room. She changed the bed sheets twice in the week we were there. Somedays she did not come at all which caused our bins to overflow with rubbish causing us to have to use plastic bags for bins. Due to the fact that I like being in a clean environment I bought my own bath cleaner because the first night I got there wanting to have a nice shower I found hair in the bath. What made it even worse was that when I went to the toilet a spider started to crawl out. Thank the Lord for crouching if not I mite have been invaded ewwwww!!!

The reception staff was okay at times, but when we first checked in to the hotel the guy that worked there could barely speak English and took all our passports. We had to wait two days to get them back as the next day the lady who worked there had no idea where he had put our passports as they were not where they should have been. This went on for an extra day until she finally made contact with him which we then got our passports back.

The rooms had no AC and we could not even leave our door or balcony door open due to the inrusion of cats, so by the last couple of days I was sick. What was really funny was the fact that me and my friends caught one couple going at it in the pool. Many people would also use the pool after hours which showed the level of supervision from the hotel staff.

The only thing I would say about the area was that it was close to the square and not that far from the restaurants and nissi beach.
