“Nice family resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2010

The Kermia Beach Bungalow Hotel is located in a distance of 3 km outside of Ayia Napa at a nice and quiet section of a sandy bay. It offers a wide estate with gardens and nice fully equipped bungalows. The pool area is fairly wide and pool exercises are offered daily. You can also rent bikes or play tennis/ ping-pong and rent various water sports equipment. The hotel offers half board and all inclusive. The food is freshly cooked and prepared and the buffet offers a wide choice of food - especially for dinner. There is a bar for having drinks and cocktails and there is a live entertainment every night. This hotel can be recommended for families and everyone who wants to rest and relax during vacation. Since Ayia Napa can be reached within a 45 minutes walk or by car/ bike only the hotel is not located in vivid nightlife surrounding.
We enjoyed our stay a lot and since there are a lot of cats you need to like pets :-)

“Real indipendence with your own bungalow - nice beach and gardens!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2010

The Hotel is located some 5-8 km from the center of Ayia Napa, direction Cape Greco.
Close to the Hotel there is nothing at all! No other mass hotels, no restaurants, no supermarkets, nothing. Just "peace". It’s nice if you want to relax there. If you want to make the party, you can go by car or bus to the city-centre.

It's really amazing having your own bungalow. You have your independence: your room, your kitchen (very well organized, you can even cook if you want!), your terrace, your garden.. so nice!

The gardens are spectacularly maintained, and the pool and the beach are fantastic.
The breakfast area is so big and nice.. there are so many tables that you don't have to fight to find a place. The same is with the sun beds and the beach: you don't have to run early in the morning to find a place.. you can always get a sun beds and there is so much space for everybody.

The service at the restaurants and reception are really professional!
Something interesting and really appreciated: they have Greek Cypriots working there but so you really feel in Cyprus. It's so nice to be welcomed with a "Kalimera".
We have been in other hotels in Cyprus where at the reception there were people from Eastern Europe... which really makes you feel in Poland/Russia but not in Cyprus!

Somebody before us wrote about problems in getting GSM signal: it’s not at all true!
There are 4 operators covering the hotel, 2 from Cyprus (Areeba and CYTA) and 2 from Turkish Cyprus, too. We didn’t use the WLAN, so we can’t judge if it was ok or not… but when I’m on holiday, I don’t need for sure WLAN!

There are plenty of free car parkings in the hotel, too.

The only negative thing: our bungalow had a terrible smell of humidity.... we had to leave the windows open in order to breath fresh (not smelly) air.

“Almost unique - a luxury hotel for people who don't really like luxury hotels”

The concept of a bungalow hotel is just what some people want. Your own privacy and facilities, but everything you could want if and when you do want to join in. And it is on its own bit of beach a few miles as the crow flies, but light years in many ways, from the hurly burly of Ayia Napa. It suits us and we are in our sixties. This was our second visit.

Food in the outdoor restaurant was really good. The staff who are dealing with a multi-national clientele (predominantly German and Russian, but virtually all of Europe seemed to be represented) were friendly and cheerful, and managed to give a personal service without gushing.

On the negative side, we thought the beds could do with an update. What is that Cypriot hotels have against double beds? The mattresses were only adequate and surely light duvets are better in hot climates than blankets. We thought the on site water sports were a bit expensive - 10 Euros for a half hour on a pedalo?

Overall though a fully relaxing and satisfying holiday experience.

“If I hadn't known it was Cyprus I would have thought we were in the caribbean”

Arriving at the entrance to Kermia Beach Bungalows and driving through the lush green gardens with hibiscus bushes, palm trees and bougainvillea draping the roofs of each bungalow was more than a pleasant surprize after the scorched barren august landscape, but we all stared in amazement upon glimpsing the view from the hotel reception. It is beautiful.

Four star by English standards it is not, but the surroundings and friendliness of the staff more than made up for that. We stayed in a very spacious two bedroomed bungalow which was spotlessly clean if a little shabby. Ample wardrobe space, very efficient air conditioning, all the facilities we needed and so much nicer than separate hotel rooms. We opted for half board and could take lunch or dinner as required. Food was all buffet style, including breakfast, which meant everyone could eat what and as much as they pleased. None of us went hungry!! Drinks are not included in the price, but our bar bill was half as much as we expected.

The resturants and evening entertainment, which went on throughout and long after dinner, are situated around the pool. The standard of entertainment was another pleasant surprize we experienced. We particularly liked a blues/jazz trio including singer and saxophonist. This hotel has thought of everything.

Our teenagers wanted to continue thier evening long after our bedtime and could easily do so with a taxi from the hotel to Ayia Napa taking less than 10 minutes. We did not feel the need to leave the complex except to take a family trip to the waterpark 20 minutes away. The complex is rather remote which suited us well, but it is easy to get to busier parts if required.

We didn't make use of the hotel's sports facilities because it was too hot. The watersports were quite pricey but great fun. Our children too old for the kids club and we didn't meet another English family although two others arrived as we were leaving. However there were nationals of many different countries and quite a number of couples of all ages.

Although the beach is sandy there are a number of stones/rocks in the sea so young children could benefit from waterproof shoes. We didn't need them. The complex shop sells most things.

Overall, not the cheapest holiday we could have picked, but we all agree we are so glad we went there and certainly would consider it again. Nothing really to criticize but everything to recommend.

“Something good other things not.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

The good things first: The beach and the pool-area are wonderful and not owercrovded.
The water is clean and the sunbeds are good. In the bungalows the aircondition works very good, and there are very good parking for rental cars. The negative: On their web-page they says that there is wi-fi in all bungalows. It doesn,t work. The signal al over the area is so weak that it,s useless. The only place where the wi-fi works is in the reception area but it,s very slow, jumping out very often and costs eur 5 for 90 minutes. The hotel is so far away from the nearest gsm transmitter so you can not use mobile phone inside the bungalows and also here 3g gsm broadband is very weak. The bungalows itself looks very nice outside, but is a little bit outdated inside. + is the shower that has enough water and pressure so bathrooms are ok. The beds are firm and the towels are small. This is NOT Sheraton beds. The hotels kitchen also under the average of what you can find in Ayia Napa. The menu and the food in the a la carte restaurant reminds me about Cyprus 15 years ago. And here the restaurants in Ayia Napa has been so much better. F.eks restaurant "Sage". I,m realy surprised. Much better quality on food in Ayia Napa than in f.eks Tenerife. All the personal are very professional and nice. If you think that a holiday should be only sun and swim this is the right place. It,s pity that it could be so much much better with good wifi a modern kitchen and softer beds. The people working there are so nice that they deserve it.
