I stopped at the Formosa for 4 nights on a weekend of golfing with a group. The hotel is a bit off the beaten track. However, it is only a 5 min cab or car ride back into Amancil, where there are plenty of shops. The apartments (I stopped in a 4 Person x 2 Room) were really spacious, the kitchen was well kept and everything worked. We had a nice balcony which caught the sun and generally even though there were 4 of us in the room we didn't feel cramped. Breakfast was included for us and was a wide range of continental rolls, meats & cheeses or the hot fried buffett. It was very nice.
About 5 mins walk down the hill is the beach, which was totally empty, the san stretched for miles either way and it was ideal when we had time away from the golf courses. The swimming pool was also very nice, but in the time I stopped there we didn't use it. I'd recommend the place, I'd think if I had a young family it would be a good place to take them, everything is quite close - but I do think you need your own transport to reach it.

This was at least the 10th time I have used this Hotel in the last few years.My wife and I have just returned from a 10 day stay.
The Staff are always helpfull and will do what they can to make your stay a good as it can be.
Facilities in the appartments are excellent for the cost paid.All rooms have very good air conditioning and are cleaned daily.This time we went through Golf Breaks and the only moan we had was over the allocation of the appartment.If I had thought about it I would have e-mailed ahead to check which side of the Hotel we were going to be.
Even so we had a great time.
For Golfers there are some of the best courses within a 10 minute drive and afterwards there are more restaurants in the locality to choose from than you can take advantage of, if you want to eat out.
Difficult to find any fault with the location or the facilities.It is worth mentioning the beds; they are quite hard, and this will suit some and not others.
One major plus was the WI-FI available.At a modest cost of 10 euros for an hour it was easy to use in the room.
We have already made arrangements to go back in March next year.

We stayed in a one bed room with our two children. Sofa bed OK for younger kids only, room had full kitchen, aircon and was clean and spacious. However, a other fittings a little tired, eg CRT TV with few local channels only. The pool is OK, but not large enough for the number of guests, so sometimes a scramble for space.

The staff are very friendly, and the restaurant was very good, in particular the buffet breakfast and a la carte dinner. Parking is no problem.

The location is not perfect. The beach is only 800m away, but you need to walk down a steep sandy hill through scrub land, so best to drive to the beach car park instead. Also, the only alternative local restaurants to the hotels are on the beach.

Went here last October with a crowd (22) fellow golfers, rooms clean and split into two bedrooms with a seperate living / cooking area. View not great and a 10 minute walk through a small copse gets you to a nice sandy beach. Stayed here and went golfing in the day and ate at the hotel a couple of times, but the restaurant is quite small for the number of rooms. Other times we ate in Villamora. taxies ranges from 8 to 15 Euro's each way. A good base for people wanting to stay and play golf in Villamora.
