We chose Moresco on the basis of tripadvisor reviews, its high ranking and the fact that we were not interested in the "package system" (room, food & boat) offered by others in Lampedusa. The best thing of Moresco is its location, very central and steps away to what, we agree with other reviewers, is a wonderful address in Lampedusa: Cafe della Amicizia. Moresco is new, the rooms are big, but it just not fits the bill. The bathroom is dark and not kept well, mirrors broken, bathroom fittings are rusty; we were told that this will soon be upgraded. At the time being is not, that's all I can say. Then there is the service chapter...: breakfast, we were two people and were systematically given one juice (one single very artificial juice in a plastic glass to share). We could not understand the logic of it. Breakfast was mediocre at its best. For anyone going there, I would really advise to walk out and go to Cafe della Amicizia, it would be a much better way to start the day. About bathroom complimentary items: two soap sachets for the entire stay and a roll of toilet paper, when we asked for some more toilet paper, we were told that Moresco is a "resort" and therefore does not provide with it. We had to go to the supermarket and buy a confection of toilet paper for just one more day. Naturally, it is now about us spending on toilet paper, that's not an issue, but it rather says about the minimalist and cheap approach of the management. I would not qualify any of the persons managing or working in the resort as particularly warm or of help; they only seemed to be interested in us paying (you do that in advance by bank transfer and in the middle of your stay) and praising them in tripadvisor (we were literally asked to do so). I could go on, but the key question is would I go back? Clearly not.
