The trick here is that this place belongs to 2 hotels, "Holidays In Evia" which is a 3* hotel & the 4* hotel "Eretria Village". The 4* one is a new beautiful building with a great pool. The 3* in which I stayed is an old building which is closer to the sea.
Pros:
- The stuff was very friendly.
- The place is about 1.5 hour away from Athens
- It had a large parking space.
- The room was spacious, with a big bathroom, a good closet, refrigerator, tv, radio, a boudoir, extra pilows, extra blankets and 2 places to leave ur luggage.
- Clean as if u were @ home! Fresh towels, many toilet papers, very clean bathroom, fresh seats, clean floor, all set by a extremely kind cleaning lady.
- There was a groom expecting us when we arrived to drive us and our stuff to our room
- 2 very large pools. The one had sweet water, with a big swallow part for kids or people who just want to sit inside the cool water and a deeper part to exercise and have fun. The other one was big, near the bar and the sea which is deep and has salty water.
- The place was huge filled with flowers and trees, you could walk around or go jogging, it had a very cute and clean private beach [it has a Blue Flag= it's very clean]
- they had a group of animateurs to entertain the people with special features all day long such as gym, dance, theater, theme nights, disco, yoga etc, who would keep u informed all the time about their schedule.
- The food was Excellent! Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, as well as free drinks and snacks, everything included in the price! The restaurant was placed in the 4* hotel and there was also a cute tavern by the sea where u could also enjoy ur meal.
Cons:
- The room's furniture. There were very old [70s style], with 2 single beds instead of a double one [it's the same in every room & it's very unconfortable if u are a couple].
- the tv was smaller than a laptop and was placed on top the refrigerator.
- The radio and the phone were like 20 years old!! They hardly work!
- The balcony didn't feel quite safe. As I said this hotel is very old ~ The should definitely do a makeover, call an engineer and perhaps a.. decorator?
- Thin walls.
- The air condition was a disaster! It was a very old system, it was open 16 hours a day [whenever breakfast, lunch or dinner were served it would be turned off and there was nothing you could do about it :S] I've never heard that before!
- It was too expensive! We paid 62 Euro/ person. Everything was included in that price [food, using the pools, terrains, sea, gym etc] but the room didn't deserve that much money. And you could definitely not use everything provided because when u eat 3 times in 12 hours you can neither swim or do anything like gym or watersports!
~
It was beautiful with huge amenities and plenty of stuff to do but if I decided to visit it again I would book a room @ the "Eretria Village" hotel which would certainly have better rooms!
