“Herrliches Flair und Ambiente”

We have spent 4 wonderful nights at the Tannbergerhof on Newyear 2009/10. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was the heated ice bar where we took our first drinks of the trip. So we were in party-mood from the first moment on. Insider´s tip: Try the "Würstl mit Kren (fresh horseradish)" It has become our absolute favorite snack within Lech. Especially after a long day skiing.
The rooms are very comfortable and designed generously in a modern regional style. Everything was clean and the service personel friendly. Another highlight was the restaurant. Every dinner we took was excellent. But the dinner at newyear´s eve was a blast. Something that could have been better: The terrace was full of ice and very slippery. You always had to watch your step. We can also recommend the hotel disco. A lot of people from the hotel as well as guest have been partying to mixed music. After dancing all night we have spent a wonderful new years night at Tannbergerhof. All in all we recommend the hotel and we are looking forward to visit the hotel again.

Visit Tannbergerhof with my brother in law for a long ski weekend. We arrived in the afternoon and the friendly lady at the reception took direct care of us. Her colleague stored our skies in the Ski room, helped us with the luggage and parked my car in the parking garage. The hotel has a perfect outdoor après ski bar and a typical Austrian bar inside. After a long day skiing you can use the hotel sauna and I can recommend a message. In the morning there is a perfect breakfast buffet. The first morning I ordered a tomato juice and a hardboiled egg and they served it by themselves the other days, wow! In the evening we enjoyed a 5 cours meal from chef Michael Steinwender. Prefect taste, great staff and combined with some good wines (they have a great choice!) the right ingredients for a prefect evening. I already booked for next year!

“Nice and friendly but overpriced”

We stayed in the Tannenberghof during a skiing weekend in February. My husband is from the area and we know Lech very well. Compared to other hotels (3* and 4*) the pros and cons of this one are:
Pros: super location (2 min to lifts, supermarket, all restaurants), nice food (we had half-board and the dinner was very nice, breakfast is good but nothing exceptional), friendly service and care throughout (we liked the fact that the manager arranged ski passes for us so we didn't have to buy them in the morning), pretty rooms (we were upgraded to suit, which was huge - easy fit 4 people).
Cons: If your room is facing the street can be quite noisy because of traffic and bar with loud music in front of the hotel, no terrace to relax on the sun after skiing (there is a bar outside but it is not the same and it is just beside the road), pillows and generally beds are not very comfortable, sauna area is quite small and nothing exceptional (the hotel offers you a swimming pool in Chalet Hilde, which is 10 min walk, but we never checked it as it is not convinuent to go outside after your sauna/ swimming).
Overall, nice experince (mainly due to very frindly staff and the upgrade) but the hotel is more like a 3* due to the amendities, however, priced as a good 4*.
We will probably try other hotels in the village next time.

“Tannbergerhof - the restaurant Stube”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2009

I was in Lech around Dec 11 for my 40th birthday and, as a group of appx 15 (mostly british and german), we sat down for fondu chinois in the restaurant at the Tannbergerhof. I have not stayed at the hotel and my comments relate to the restaurant service.
Having eaten at the Hus 8 on Thurs evg together, and then the Fux fusion restaurant on the Friday, the Tannbergerhof was a disaster.
On entering, first impressions were bad. Unlike the other two establishments they had split the group into 2 separate tables.
The sommelier had poor communication skills and also found it hard to accept that the 2nd magnum he served us was oxodised. Halfway through the meal, a candle on a side table set the table-cloth on fire it was another guest that came to the rescue.
The kitchen couldn't cope with simple dessert requests such as combinations of ice-cream. Afterwards they got the bill wrong and we were still getting emails back-and-forth into January.

On the positive side, we had a drink inside at the bar after the shambles of a meal. The service at the bar was excellent and we told them so. We have also enjoyed the ice-bar the previous year.
In a nutshell, avoid eating at this restaurant as it is a long way from the quality that defines Lech

“Dining out at the Tannbergerhof”

The staff at the Tannbergerhof are without doubt the most pretentious and rude I have ever encountered, anywhere. We were shoe-horned into a corner of the entrance lobby to eat once the waiter had finished joking about our surname with some other locals. The wine we chose was not up to scratch with the Sommelier who asked us to reconsider. All courses were accompanied with comments aside in Austrian. The Austrians in Lech were generally a decent bunch as was the chef, we imagine, as the food was good. Approach with caution.
