“No families with kids !!!!!! With dogs, small dogs, big dogs, YES !!!”

Definitelly not for family with kids, both house people and guests are kind and nice to any kind of dog - but they are terrified when they see kids... Kids are going arround, sing, talk loudly, and disturb the gourmet dinner - but dogs seating on the lobby sofas DON'T. Yes, it is a gourmet - but all hotels I've beed - payng the same price - they had the same dinner, even better, they had swimming pool, immediate acces to the slopes (at Brunnenhof the bus doesn't respect the schedule and could come rarely sometimes, sometimes often...), rooms with toys for kids... But definettely - same price hotel, besides acces to slopes and swimming pool offered much much better breakfast ! At Brunnenhof it is a king of french breakfast (meaning poor), and for one egg I had to pay 5 euros !!!
So - It was generally good, but the price could be easily just half !!!! No reason to be high despite of the Michelin star of the Chef ! And I forgot that I got the showergel or shampoo re-fill only by request, not daily as it is normal in any kind of hotel...

“Gourmet is not a synonym for "just a little bit of food".”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

My wife and I booked very late and managed to get a tiny little room from the wonderful people of Brunnenhof.

The room was so small that the night concierge couldn't even find it at first. He had to go downstairs and check.
Everything was immaculately clean and breakfast was as good as normal hotel breakfasts gets. The staff in their beautiful trachten spinnoffs were immensely polite and a delight to talk to. We skied all day and then came back for a wonderful sauna and steam room after which we relaxed in the comfortable relaxing room before going to dinner....

The hotel and the dinner is advertised as gourmet and being somewhat knowledgeable in the art of making such things myself I prepared myself to be gourmetized.
That was a mistake.
The entree was two turkey slices, the size and thickness of 2 euro coins. The turkey might have tasted something when it passed away, but after overcooking the only thing remaining was the same tissue paper that Figlmüller (See my other review) uses for their Wienerschnizl. The plate was decorated with the old reduced balsamico stripe and three rancid capers of the smallest variant i had ever seen. On the plate was also a sauce made probably from tuna and a bit of mayonnaise or something, which tasted like tuna but did not make me want to yell to the world that I was experiencing anything special.
Next..
Salsify cream soup. What can i say? There might have been a bit of salsify in a passing truck once, but the soup hadn't been close to it.
Next..
Lamb with red curry and rice... Nice comeback after no taste at all.
The rice was slightly under cooked, giving a "al dente" feeling to it, which normally should be applied to pasta. The red curry came out of a jar with a spicy hotness, but none of the nuances of Kaffir lime, lemongrass, fishsauce or anything. But certainly hot. Not hot enough though to disguise the fact that the "lamb" was overcooked to the extreme, with a strong taste of wool only to be associated with much older members of that species. Could not eat even a minimal bite.
Desert was Ok.

The next two days we ate in town ans were reimbursed 11 euros per missed meal.

We returned for another "Gourmet" experience on New years day, which was equally depressing.

I am so sad to write this review because it gives me mixed feelings. The Hotel is perfect in all other aspects, except for the food which is absolutely, worthless. Excluding the salads, cheeses and breakfast table.
