We had two nights at this place over the Christmas period. Room was dirty, very dirty, many things did not work and the man at reception could not care less. Had to laugh though, read the in room brochure that advised that any problems we should telephone reception straight away. I picked up the phone and found that was not working either!
Great views though, shame about the management!
One of the things not working was the bulb on the balcony, which was reported. I wish I had my video with me to film the same man from reception standing on one of the patio chairs to change the bulb. The only problem was that he let all the rubbish and dead insects fall onto the balcony floor and our towels and did not bother to clean up!! This is a definate place to miss.

Couldn't ask for more... beautiful facilities it has a tennis court, sauna, free wifi and even a rooftop spa overlooking breathtaking panoramic views, great pool, thick cushioned deck chairs, games room - everything you need plus so much more. Idyllically located giving the best of two worlds. A beautiful 5 min walk down the hill to Noosa's famous Main Beach best for a swim or surf, quality boutique shops, restaurants, live entertainment - clubs on Hasting Street, 10-15 min walk from Resort to Noosa National Parks - unlimited biosphere walks! Walk down the hill in the other direction 3-4 min. fresh juice bars, great priced eateries, banks, cinema, supermarket, post office, boutique shops.
Debby the owner is personable and does whatever humanly possible to make your stay unforgettably special. You would be hard pressed to top this resort for facility, location, atmosphere and service.

Stayed for 6 nights as 2 couples in a 2 bed apartment.

The apartment was of a reasonable size with a decent master bedroom but a pokey second bedroom. The room facilities were ok but definitely getting past their "sell by" date! The main living area was air conditioned (inadequately) but the bedrooms were not and this is definitely an issue. There are ceiling fans in all areas, most are noisy and ricketty, but a serious word of warning is that the fans are very low and during a lapse of concentration whilst putting my shirt on I managed to hit my hand on one of the fans resulting in a seriously cut finger which required medical attention - ouch!

We didn't use it but the pool area is reasonably sized and has a jacuzzi, sauna and a games room area. Our balcony overlooked the pool and our impression was that the pool area looked clean but the pool itself always appeared slightly murky.

The location was good as far as we were concerned but be warned its at the top of a hill and its a stiff pull back from the resort if you are not the walking type although there are frequent buses if you need them (literally a 3 min bus ride).

We found the staff friendly and helpful so no issues in that respect for us.

I'd definitely recommend the Reef Pub which is across the road from the property when walking towards the resort. The food and drink are excellent and reasonably priced particularly when compared with the main resort (although nothing is cheap in Australia!), the only downside to the place is that it is specifically family orientated and therefore noisy kids can be an issue.

In terms of recommendation then if you are looking for something special, forget it. If you want somewhere convenient and acceptable you'll be ok.

Having booked accommodation, 10 months prior to travel I was horrified to be allocated Apartment 24 which a prior traveller had negatively commented on. This apartment is by no means suitable 4 star accommodation. It is what most travellers would consider unacceptable.

Upon our arrival, we discovered that 2 of the light globes were not functioning, one being over the dining table. This would have been something that could have been avoided by a quick check by housekeeping/cleaners, prior to our checking in. The kitchen facilities were substandard, the fridge was rusty, old and extremely noisy. The oven was also rusty and below par for accommodation of this type. The toilet in the ensuite kept running water after flushing and needed to be seen to after each use. There was a hairdryer supplied for use in the children’s bathroom. It had clearly been left by an overseas traveller as it could not be used with the Australian power points. Why it had been neatly wrapped up and placed there for our use is beyond me.

The apartment had not been adequately cleaned prior to our arrival. There was a lot of sand on one of the beds in the second room. This indicates to me, that the room had not been adequately cleaned following the vacating of the apartment by the previous tenants. The window in the ensuite bathroom was extremely dirty as were the windows in the main bedroom. The lamp shade in the main bedroom was dirty and the outdoor sun lounge was broken, with the fabric cover in shreds. I would assume it would be better not to supply an outdoor lounge than to have one there that is broken and unsafe. I also noted that Apartment 24 had very cheap outdoor furniture, in direct contrast to the other apartments. The lounge was broken, could not be used and if anyone had attempted to lie on it, may have led to an injury.

I found management to be reactive rather than proactive and it was necessary to follow them up. Shortly after checking in, I also discovered the DVD player didn’t work. The Noosa Hill Resort markets itself as 4 star accommodation and it definitely required the payment of 4 star prices. I was under the impression that unless I pursued every problem nothing was going to be rectified.

The apartment block also appeared to have very poor insulation. We were woken every day at 5.30am due to the amount of noise coming from the apartment directly above us. Had I not paid for the accommodation in full prior to my arrival, I would have left this substandard, unsatisfactory accommodation and booked in elsewhere. It was disgusting.

Following a complaint to my agent I was informed that the Apartment 24 had undergone a major refurbishment in 2009 and the purchase of new furniture in 2010. I can only imagine what previous travellers had to put up with.

Be very wary.
