“Second Visit, No Regrets”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

My fiance and I decided we needed another weekend away, and what better choice to nip down to Busselton from Perth and enjoy a peaceful weekend, we previously stayed at Beachlands a few months ago and we had next to no issues with the accommodation or helpfulness of the staff. Beachlands is very easy to find as there is a large sign on the side of the road which can be seen from a decent distance, also located very near to town which is convenient also.

As was the case last time, the accommodation appeared to be immaculate, it smelt and appeared to be very clean, personally have never had any problems with cleanliness on either visit to Beachlands, the jacuzzi was lovely and walked flawlessly, and added to that the bathroom facilitiies were more than adequate with TONS of space to spare in both bathrooms.

As a couple we only used one bedroom (the master bedroom), which again had plenty of space and a very nice cupboard space and a very comfortable bed, the spare bedroom also looked of a decent size and very clean although we did not use it.

The living area was very comfortable, not personally a fan of leather however found the seating to be very comfortable and unlike other locations you do not get stuck when attempting to get up because the furniture is not looked after, the living area includes a small but nice dining table, so no complaints there. The entertainment facilities in the living room are very nice, easy to use and navigate, however we could not for the life us manage to get the surround sound to work in Jacuzzi Bungalow 2, though we just modified a setting to get it to play without it.

Finally, the kitchen was very clean upon arrival, also very spacious so no complaints there, very easy to use and maintain everything in that space, never personally been a fan of "Microwave Ovens" that combine as a microwave and an oven so we just skipped over it and used the very nice stove top for everything we wanted.

Overall the accommodation was very spacious, very clean and a very pleasant place to spend a couple of nights away from the big city enjoying the peace and quiet of our own voices, we briefly had some noisy neighbors but the walls of the bungalow manage to do very well in cutting out external noise.

Just would like to make a comment on the previous reviews regarding cleanliness and the swimming pool, I cannot comment on the swimming pool or the facilities for children as my fiance and I do not have children so did not use those facilities, though I would suggest that those with complaints try and keep a swimming pool used by hundreds of people cleaned by themselves to a TOP standard.

Overall Beachlands for my fiance and I, you get top marks, we will be back for another break soon!

Room Tip: Jacuzzi Bungalows are amazing for couples looking for a peaceful retreat to the south, though avoid...

“A terrible experience involving 5 days lock down in our room with all three of our children getting gastro from the overcrowded,”

My husband, three children 7,5,4 and myself recently stayed in the most exclusive accommodation Beachlands has to offer...the Jaccuzi Bungulow, for one week. I am in shock at the number of positive reviews this caravan park receives as we found it very difficult to see any.

The owners have crammed as much accommodation in to the small park as possible...greedily trying to generate more reveniew at the detriment of facilities. There is no nice grassy patches to enjoy. The pillow, play ground and pool have no shade which makes them virtually unusable. The pool is no bigger that your average backyard pool yet it is expected to service hundreds of guests? I counted over 40 people in it on one of our visits. The water is so murky you can't see your hands. It is unhygienicly warm due to now shade...a breeding ground for bacteria and parasites.

I brought this to their attention out of concern and was told it was sunscreen-rubbish! If this was so why are most pools clear when all contain swimmers wearing sunscreen? The pool was the cause of all three of our children and myself contracting gastro. We had to seek medical attention and was advised by the doctor to not return to the pool as it was obviously to source. We had not been in contact with any public or outside meals during this time.

We soon discovered we were not alone. There were four other children sick outside their tents holding buckets. One parent told us they used to get sick on previous visits but now don't allow their children to use the pool and haven't had the problem since.

The bungalow appeared clean on first entry but after having to thoroughly clean with disinfectant in an effort to relieve ourselves of gastro this proved otherwise. When wiping the couches I was shocked to see the cloth black with dirt and grime.

Total cost of holiday? Over $2 700 for a week. Could have stayed in real luxury for that and got to enjoy it instead of holding a bucket for most of it. Do your self a favour, stay home and healthy. Give this one a miss.

We are sorry to hear these guests were unwell on their holiday and did not enjoy their stay at Beachlands as a result of being sick. With reference to the pool being murky, this was in fact due to the excessive amount of sunscreen being washed off in the pool, by a large number of guests, over a few very hot days. The City of Busselton regulations require accommodation providers test their water quality once a day, ours is tested twice a day and has at all times complied with regulations. Please rest assured we take great pride in the cleanliness of our park, in both accommodation and facilities, and are renowned for our extraordinarily high standards.

We actually tried to book into nearby Mandalay, but couldn't get in. In hindsight, what a relief - Mandalay was too big and crowded. Beachlands is compact and more initimate with less pressure of facilities. Very quiet at night; friendly staff and a beautiful walk to the beach. Busselton boasts the best cycle ways in Australia. Be sure to take your bikes - the coastal trail is only 15 minutes from the Busselton Jetty.

We will definetly return to Beachlands. The grounds are flat and the lawn is very well kept and manicured.
