A good value motel based on Australian standards. Situated some 5 miles north of Hobart centre on the main road north. Easy to find. Rooms are of a good size and better than basic. Frig, flat tv and comfortable bed.Wireless internet, basic bathroom with shower. There is a 7 day restaurant but evening meal was disappointing. However breakfast was good. Friendly reception and efficient desk.

Arriving in Hobart just before 10 pm. on a Friday night was no problem at the Balmoral.
The staff quickly had us checked in so that we could relax after a long days work. As we entered the room we were surprised at how big it was. All of the furnishings and fittings looked to be new. The bathroom was so clean and modern it could have come from one of those designer magazines. The only slight criticism was that the beds were too firm for our liking.

Myself, my husband and my mother had the pleasure of staying just one night at this wonderful hotel, wished it was longer.. Originally we were booked into a two bedroom family room, but when I found out that getting to our room involved quite a few stairs, and my mother being quite elderly I was concerned it wouldnt be a great start. But the very kind and considerate fellow at the desk realised I was concerned and quickly offered us two rooms on the ground floor, at no extra cost! Plus a substantial continental breakfast was included with our tariff...
The beds were brand new, the rooms fitted out very recently and very modern and oh so clean too.. Had the best night sleep, lovely and cosy air con and lovely thick quilts made for a great night..
They also have a laundry which has a washer and dryer, which we used also.
All in all I would recommend this motel to anyone travelling to Tassie, easy to find and a great place to stay..!!

We wanted a place not too far from Hobart with good rates and Balmoral Inn met our expectations. It was very clean and spacious and there was a post office and general store around the corner. Located on Brooker Highway and about 10-15 minutes from Hobart CBD. Helpful and friendly staff too.

I Stay at this Hotel Quite A lot as I travel for work in Hobart quite often . I have stayed at alot of diffrent hotels and found this one the BEST.
THE MANAGEMENT and staff are vary helpful and polite ,i think of them as a second family I have found the rooms to be very clean and well maintained.THE food is amazing and all is all a FANTASTIC PLACE TO TAKE THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS
