Nice typical suburban motel with great staff and very clean rooms on the Brooker Hwy about 8 km from central Hobart and 2 km from Glenorchy town center. I stayed here for 2 nights on business and found it had all the facilities needed. Comfy bed and couch, desk space. fridge, tea/coffee facilities, lots of towels, very well lit bathroom and car parking at your door.
The restaurant/bar had continental brekky for $8 and full cooked brekky for $16. In both cases unlimited toast, yoghurt, fruit salad, tea, coffee and juice. Had dinner here one night with a colleague and the mains were well prepared, substantial in size, mostly around the low to mid $20's in price.
My one gripe is that the restaurant and bar is only open until 8pm, as the motel is about a 15-20 minute walk from Main Street restaurants and pubs, don't come back to the motel looking for a nightcap. That aside, the small bar is very well stocked with lots of local and imported beers, wines, spirits. There seemed to be a few taxis around so this may be the solution. If you are stupid enough to even contemplate drink driving be warned this area seems to have the highest concentration of highway patrol police anywhere in the world!
As for public transport, there were lots of buses around, from what I can make out the area is serviced by bus routes #24 through to #126 which all go to / come from central Hobart (more info www.metrotas.com.au). Again, you will need to walk to Main Street in Glenorchy, Moonah or Derwent Park to get on theses buses. There was an X4 express bus that went nearby the motel but this seemed to be an express daytime bus only with limited stops.
All in all a great place to stay, will be back again soon.
