Mid December 2011 stayed at the Trinity Beach apartments. What a wonderful location directly opposite the Beach and swimming enclosure. Each morning just walked over to the beach in my bikini for a swim then wondered back for coffee and croissants on the balcony. The facilities were good particularly the washing machine and dryer. We had previously been in Perth and Adelaide in hotels for a total of 10days and so had lots of washing. The apartment was clean and large and the bed very comfortable. My husband paid the place the greatest compliment by saying he could easily live there. The staff were very friendly and Melissa extremely helpful in discussing the various available trips and making recommendations. Trinity Beach is about 20 minutes from Cairns and as a reasonable size supermarket which is about 15 minutes walk from the apartment but provides complimentary lift back on request. Food is a little pricey but in the shopping complex is an excellent butcher and baker. As a first time visitor to Australia Trinity Beach was exactly what I expected. We didn't use the barbeque in the apartment grounds because there were so many on the Esplanade beach front. Easy to get into cairns and to do any of the wonderful trips onto the barrier reef and rain forest.

We have just returned from January holiday and On the Beach apartmetns were really lovely and clean and just what anyone would want for a relaxing holiday. The fact that thre was a washer and dryer made things really good after travelling for over two weeks be fore we got there. The bbq area is really good as well we bbq'd most nights and sat on our balcony and ate our food. If we ever come back to Australia we will definately go back to On the Beach at Trintiy Beach.

We stayed here for 4 days as a mid tour breather from a tour of cities. The accomodation is excellant with plenty of details such as table and drink coasters. The kitchen eqiupment was perfect for doing your own catering and the pool area was very private and quiet when we were there. It was very comfortable and is right on the beach. It was wonderful to sit on the balcony in the evening and listen to the sea and watch the stunning sunsets. Public BBQ area
across from the apartments should you wish to endulge if the hotel BBQ is busy. Staff very helpful and friendly and some great trips to be booked if you want to venture further. Lovely quiet resort with the jungle and hills as a back drop. Would recommend to anyone looking for some peace and quiet and great beaches. Would definately re visit.

If your ideal vacation involves large palm trees, a long porch overlooking the ocean, then On The Beach will work for you.  The two bedroom apartments are huge, designed for families.  Washer and dryer as well as a dishwasher were included as well as a fully equipped kitchen with plenty of counter space. The decor is beach-kitz but can be avoided by looking outdoors at the ocean. The only safe ocean  swimming area in Trinity Beach lies directly  across the street from the apartments.  Without a car it is a 20 minute walk to the nearest supermarket and the nearby restaurants unexceptionable. 
As modern internet-dependent people, the only draw back was the wireless  internet which was expensive (40$ AU for 4 days) but with speeds that often dropped to 45 kb and lower, resulting in impossibly slow-loading intenet pages  On the plus side, the cable tv was excellent and with a decent election of Australian TV shows.
