My partner and i had such a great time will definetly be back, from check in to check out reception staff so lovely really made the w/e. Our room was very nice, had an amazing view were lucky to have a room with viewns only on the 5th floor on the corner, so we had ocean and mountain views, stunning!! Kayaked over to bribie!! TWICE!! i am not a sporty sort of person but this was alot of fun and when you get there in like your own PRIVATE BEACH!! All must try all ages!! The only down was the food, Thai restaurant was ok but the staff, again made the experience GREAT!! Pizza shop around the corner not that great either, i would recommend driving just up the road to caloundra or bring your own :) Would really love to thank the staff so much again :D

“Would not stay there again if you paid me:(”

We booked through wotif.com and was surprised to find a place on short notice through the Christmas period. We were even more surprised that it was reasonably priced and right on the water at Bulcock beach. However on arrival it became clear that although it was situated on the water, there was no direct access (unless you wanted to swim from the jetty to the beach) and the only way to get to the beach was walking around the back street. It does have a nice looking swimming pool though but upon closer inspection, it seemed the "heated" pool needed serious maintenance (the paving and surrounding pebbles and they can not possibly call it heated!).
What disappointed us the most though was that after 2 nights in a third floor unit, we were told to move to a ground floor unit since management made a mistake with our booking! Imagine our dismay of having to pack everything up to move! If you have small children you will understand the pain involved with that:( Upon considering our options, we asked to have our money for the remaining night refunded but was told that it wasn't an option either, it was basically a case of move to the ground floor unit or leave and loose your money. For the children's sake, we opted to move to the ground floor unit since it was right next to the swimming pool but was thoroughly disgusted by the filthy unit (mouldy showers, broken and dusty flyscreens, sticky floor and a seriously bad tobacco smell)!!! I find it completely baffling that compared to the previous unit, there could be such a complete difference in cleanliness!
However, if you are not fazed by the smell of urine and tobacco, do not care if you are able to walk via the jetty to the beach and are lucky enough to NOT having to move from unit to unit, it is reasonably priced.

“O.K., But Not Spectacular”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2010

Stayed only one night during a motorcycle trip thruout SE Queensland. Booked room with quoted wotif rate. Asking about their cancelation policy they told me that the room needs to be paid in full at the time of booking and they would give not _any_ refund if the room would be cancelled (even days in advance). That’s quite a 'draconian' cancelation policy and somewhat unusual IMHO.

Upon arrival, things got better, though. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and the resort offered secured underground parking for the bikes. The resort appears clean and maintained. The units are o.k., not overly spacious but nice layout and fully equipped with all kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, 2 TV's (one flat screen), DVD player etc. However the apartment shows it age and, although clean, there are numerous marks on the wall and the furniture from regular use. The mattresses where worn out and uncomfortable. The flyscreen at the patio door suffered from very bad corrosion and the door itself rumbled in the tracks. Some new furniture and a splash of paint would do this place good. One nice surprise where the bathrooms which where spotless clean and did not show any signs of mould or anything like that.

Ocean View is more miss then hit. All the lower floor units have no view whatsoever, except when you step out on the patio, where you can glimpse a small section of inland waterway (not the ocean). The situation might be better on floors higher up. In general only a very small section of the hotel faces the water with the majority of the rooms 'stacked' behind it.

There is a small pool right outside your room, which is both a blessing and a curse. You can easy just step outside and jump in the pool at any time from a ground floor unit. However at the same time you have the full noise right there. At times people jumping into the water even splashed water on our patio. As another reviewer mentioned after 5 pm there is no staff there to look after things and keep unruly guests in check.

The caloundra waterfront is in easy walking distance which offers plenty of restaurants and views.

In summary, the Watermark Resort is an O.K stay but nothing spectacular. The quality of the apartments is good, but ageing. Its good for families (if you don’t mind the noise) and if you don’t fancy spectacular ocean views.

“Disappointing!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

When I made the booking through Wotif I rang the Watermark and asked whether the room we have been allocated was facing the water. The answer I got was a little laugh and yes they all faced the pool and the water (derrr not so!) I guess I should have been more specific and asked whether you could see the ocean from inside the apartment. If I would have known that you could not see the ocean from the room I would not have booked or I would have paid more so I could see!!!
We were stuck in a ground floor unit (no 5) which was freezing cold, unless you went outside you could not see the ocean. It would be helpful if people were honest when you ring and enquire. That was a waste of my hard earned money.

“What a horrible resort/apartment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2009

I wouldn't go back there again even if it was offered for free. The apartment which was number 7 was awful, the toilet smelt of bad urine, the cupboard under the kitchen sink smelt awful which they must have known about because there was an air freshener already in there, the kitchen was so old it needed ripping out and starting again, the cream coloured curtains were stained with what looked like tea and coffee and the bottom of the curtains were black. The door to outside was so stiff to open, the walls were dirty, the shelves in the built in wardrobes were dusty and we found a pill/tablet on one of them so I guess it wasn't cleaned. My daughter found a green sticky sweet stuck to the wall by her bed, the gap between the bath and the hand basin was full of dust/hair and rust. I could go on and on and on but basically, I took photos and took the camera straight to reception to show then. They tried telling me about the dust storm they had a few days previous !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. They did however offer to go in with the cleaner when we went out and they did attend to the stiff door. On our return we had fresh towels !!!!! but the place still smelt. We were only there 3 nights so we just put up with it but I won't be going back considering the Rydges (very nice place) just around the corner was $200 cheaper !!!!! Oh and I forgot to mention the stained sofa with burn holes in the arms which I never sat on. The apartment had direct access to the pool and jetty which was good but the block paving footpaths were broken and uneven and the path around the far side of the pool is a tripping hazard. There's a gap between the block paving and the edging stones around the pool which has a considerable height difference hence a tripping hazard. All in all I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Sorry to the Watermark Resort but until something is drastically done to upgrade the apartments there's no way I would come back. I can only assume whoever gave you 4 stars and called you Prestigious never saw apartment number 7 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
