“Great Service, excellent facilities, terrible location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed at the hotel for a work function but brought my Mother and child with me. The facilities for the conference were excellent and all the meals were very good. The only issue for us was the lack of facilities and places to go for my Mother and child. The only thing available to them was a swimming pool which is not covered so out of the question between 10 and 2.30 pm. The compendium says the local bus is 10 minutes walk but it's more like a 25 minute power walk and only then does the bus go two stop to the local shopping centre which is a 30 minute walk. It's a long way from the beach as well if you don't have a car. It's not the place to stay if you want to roam the local area and you don't have a car. A shuttle bus would make this hotel exceptional.

Room Tip: Higher floors would have less noise from the pool or outside area when there are parties. The lifts...

“The Crowne”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

This hotel is modern, friendly and kid perfect. Spacious accomodation, great service and I love the underground parking and easy lift access. Its a little bit of a drive into Caloundra but thats OK. You can swim play tennins, go to the gym and of course The Shark's golf course is right there.
We stayed for a week and the food was brilliant, especially the ample breakfast.
My only complaint was that the beers are a bit steep at $8. I think the food made up for that.
Im definately going back.

Room Tip: Doesnt matter which way you face you will have a great view.

“Great value and excellent room service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

I stay at this hotel regularly when I am in caloundra on business. It is one of the only hotels in the area that has full room service. The room service meals are fantastic and the rooms are great and spacious

“Nice Hotel”

The hotel itself is stunning! Gorgeous views from the rooms, decent size balconies... a perfect place to relax!

We booked a Spa Suite for a few days in early January, and as we checked in, were advised that as Platinum PCR members, we had been complimentary upgraded to a higher floor... to level 2! Not that it was an issue, the view was still stunning, but wondered why we would be told this - it gives the impression/expectation of a high floor, only leaving you to be disappointed.

The suite itself was gorgeous - large 1 bedroom suite with a small kitchenette, which was a pleasant surprise! We decided to go and get some food and cook in the room that night so we could sit on the balcony and enjoy the view, only to come back to the room and discover that there were a few essentials missing - including no chopping board!!!

We dined in the restaurant a few times - one meal was for lunch, were we were served by a trainee - she was a lovely girl however we couldnt see a supervisor anywhere for the entire time we were there to give her any assistance. The meal which we were served was Nachos - which when it was served, we could see no cheese (vital ingredient) only to discover it was under all the crisps and stuck to the bottom of the bowl.

Overall, not a bad stay, however not the best - it definitely leaves room for improvement!

“Nice Friendly Place”

If you are not an avid golfer then there really isn't a lot to do out here.. Nice pool, average restaurant.. Staff are really good.. The bed we slept in was only a double and pretty uncomfortable.. Room 222..
I would come back with my mates to play golf, but make sure you have 20-30 beverages before bed so you forget you are sleeping on a concrete style matress..
Seriously.. For the price.. It's ok.. Breakfast was ok as well. Go for the golf.. Nothing more..

Room Tip: Avoid sleeping on the beds.. Try the floor instead...
