“Great midweek stay”

Very enjoyable stay in spite of the continuous heavy rain. The owner Andrew made my wife and I most welcome and had a beautifully appointed executive room for us. The cleanest bathroom imaginable - admittedly brand new refurbishment with spa - just fabulous. The whole premises were super and clean as a whistle. Lovely dinner special for the two of us with very acceptable wine list and lovely hearty breakfasts. Enjoyed the art gallery feel with paintings (many of high quality) lining the rooms and corridors. All in all a great stay. We enjoyed our stay at the Ulladulla Guesthouse very much and it was great to recharge our batteries in such a relaxing atmosphere.

“A wonderfully relaxing place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

The garden surrounding the house is filled with sub-tropical plants leading one into an old fashioned feeling place, but in a very life enhancing way. We were welcomed graciously, and provided with a large room with everything one can need, all spotlessly clean. There is a large free jacuzzi in a small exercise room in the basement. They have a policy of supporting local artists and the corridors are full of paintings, some of real quality. The restaurant was excellent, the cooking very fine indeed. The atmosphere was easy and the lounge not only comfortable with large sofas, but in daytime filled with light and looked out down the hillside towards the sea. Books and magazines were there to read. This was an unexpected but very real pleasure on our trip down to Eden.

“Dirty and tired accommodation”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

My husband and I stayed at the Ulludulla Guest House last Friday evening en route to Bermagui where we had a 60th on Sat evening.
It has to be the most horrible accommodation we have ever stayed in. 4 star I do not think so. Maybe 40 years ago it was.
It was also very expensive for its very appauling standard and at this time of year there-A$192.00 for a standard room- this was all that was available when we booked the night before and we were miraculously upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment-hate to think what the standard room was like!!
Furniture and fit out was old and tired. Tiled floor in the kitchen had not been mopped for years-my feet left a watery dirt mark in the bathroom after stepping on a puddle and believe me my feet were clean when I left Sydney-unacceptable and the towels were grey rather than white-not sure if they do their own laundry but if so they need to out source a good laundry service. The face towel on the side of the bathroom "vanity" had an old face makeup mark on it- Could not believe the filth. Towel rail fell off the wall when I tried to put my wet towel back onto it-cheap and nasty fitting.
We stayed at another 4 star hotel "the harbourview" in Bermagui the next night and what a pleasant change it was. It cost us $159.00 Also a 4 star and absolute luxury in comparison to the Ulludulla Guest house. Clean, clean, clean. Old is fine, but filth and bad value is not!
All I can say, is stay somewhere-anywhere else!

Room Tip: Do not even contemplate a stay there!

“a comfortable weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2011

Andrew and his team provided us with a relaxed but attentive weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The guest house experience with a nice deck overlooking the pool to enjoy a drink, and the well equipped lounge-plenty of current reading material on hand, and the excellent restaurant, the poached pear in wine was excellent,
We will be back for another visit.

The service was great! The rooms were clean and nicely fitted out. The food was some of the best I've ever had. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
