“cosy and clean in a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

We stayed here on the way to Perisher Valley and I was very pleased with our choice. It was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. It's a beautiful home that's been renovated by the couple that run the place, David and Elle. They were so nice and welcoming. They make you feel like your visiting relatives.
The only 2 things I would improve are: 1) I was hoping for a hot breakfast but they served a continental breakfast. However, even though it wasn't bacon and eggs, it was all fresh and yummy. They have a professional espresso machine and the coffee was great.

2) the ensuite bathroom had a shower that wasn't really seperate from the rest of the bathroom- there was no curtain or door or separated floor so water got all over the bathroom. It wasn't a big deal, just a nuisance.

The pros:
1) It was clean
2) The price was reasonable for the stay
3) it's in a great location, just off the main highway, yet on a quiet street. It's walking distance to restaurants, pubs or fast food.
4) comfortable bed and nice new linens
5) really nice service

It didn't look like there were many other options in the area. There are lots of seedy motels in the area, which I wouldn't consider. The down side is David and Elle are looking to sell the place to move overseas so hopefully the quality of service will be upheld by the new owners.

“Home Away From Home”

Whilst travelling back to Cooma for a weekend with some old mates I found this B&B.
I lived in Cooma a long time ago and It was an old dingy house.
Now its a real nice renovated and smartly decorated Home with B&B style accomodation.
The coffee is great and the breakfast easy and casual.
I had a small room at the back which opens to a verandah.
Its very quiet and beds are good.
The owners are pleasant buisness people who also own a real estate agency and do some property development, so if you need to know anything, David has all the answers.
I felt like I was a friend of the family.

“Enjoyable weekend”

Our family had the most enjoyable and relaxing few days in Cooma staying as guests with the hosts, Elaine and David, at Ellstanmor Guest House, with walking distance to the centre of the delightful town Cooma. We plan to go again soon as we were made so welcome with a wonderful breakfast and dinner as well. The house has much charm being built in 1840, but modernised in character.

“A little country respite”

I recently went back to Cooma for a weekend and again stayed at Ellstanmor Country Guesthouse. We stayed there in winter and where there on a theme weekend. The owners had put on a weekend of Edwardian respite, and all guests where invited to be invilved , it was brilliant. My recent trip was more rellaxed and subdued. I was the only guest and it was so different, the central heating was not needed as the winter has subsided and my room was spotless and fresh. I was on the back verandah with a nice private sitting room and ensuite. The meals where again great and the coffee is to die for. Renovations are still goin on but it not an inconvienience. Ellstanmor is right in the middle of town with a short walk to everything.
