I was at the Martinique hotel with my boyfrriend and my parents last October and it was amazing. The two bedrooms apartment was huge and fully furnish. The hotel is at 10 min walk from the town center and all the restaurants. All the rooms have a view on the ocean and it is simply beautifull. We really enjoyed our stay there. Just be aware that the Martinique is located on top of the hill wich mean it is a good walk from the beach.

The owners Trudy and Mick were very friendly and helpful. When my boyfriend and I mentioned that we get motion sick, Trudy had a look at the weather forecast during our stay and made sure we booked our tours of the islands and reef on the calmest days. This was awesome!!! Trudy also organized our airport transfers, and so everything was streamlined and easy.

We stayed in May 2011, and this was a great time of year to go as the weather was pleasant. If you are not very mobile, be prepared to take a car or get a taxi to and from town, as Martinique resort is on a fairly steep hill. Having said that, the tours we went on had buses that picked us up from the front door, and we are of average fitness and had no problems with the hill!!!!

Our apartment was clean and well presented. From what I can tell, most of the apartments would have spectacular views out to the ocean, Our unit definitely did!! Even the lift has a great view too!!!

The Martinique is in a good spot, close to town, fantatic views. It is clean and whilst not the most modern is being modernised. The managers make it worth the stay with their friendliness and nothing too much trouble attitude. The pool and spa are clean and pleasant and can be seen from most rooms so you can watch you kiddlies in the pool whilst having a beverage on the balcony.

Stayed at the Martinique Whitsunday's last week and absolutely loved it. It was evident that there is alot of thought and love behind the property as it was immaculately presented and had wonderful staff. The views are sensational as the property is situated on top of the hill with an infinity pool that takes it all in. There was also a spa bath next to the pool. The resort has a Mediterranean feel and while we were in one of the non-refurbished rooms 2 bedroom apartments (they are doing soft refurbs in the rooms) there was nothing to fault. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioning cold, full kitchen facilities, 2 bathrooms, large lounge and balcony area and would be perfect for a group of friends or families. The property is located very close to town so walking for dinner or to the beach wasn't a problem and despite the hill being quite steep to the top where the property was located just think of it as a way to burn of all the food and wine consumed from the restaurants surrounding...the views are worth it anyway. Due to the hill though may not be suitable for elderley guests (who are traveling without a car unless they want to grab a taxi down to town)

Martinique was about 25-30 mins from Proserpine Airport we opted to organise a transfer from the airport to the hotel with Whitsunday shuttle which ran a coach transfer that met our flight.
Would recommend the property to anyone looking for a long or short stay in Airlie.
