“AN AMAZING BEAUTIFUL FANTASTIC EXCELLENT RESORT!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This was my 6th TIME BACK to Coral Sea Resort in 4 YEARS & I STAYED FOR 3 WEEKS & i had such an absolutely wonderful time.Ive done 2 reviews before but i wanted to give you an update as this place just keeps getting bigger & better!! Greg the manager is a terrific guy,a real "happy go lucky fellow"who does a excellent job at running this resort with the wonderful hard working staff he has..Honestly,i cant fault any of the staff. They will go out of there way to help you with anything and they ALL WORK SO HARD, to make this a truly SUPERIOR EXCLUSIVE RESORT.I stay in the one of the deluxe coral sea suites with the huge spa bath on the balcony & a hammock chairs & table,The breathtaking views of the coral sea are brillant,i love to see the sun rises & sunsets..But,what i love most about theses rooms is,they ARE BIG & SO CLEAN,Housekeeping do a great job everyday & you can even book a time,if you want to with them for cleaning your room. The facilities in the luxurious resort are superb. The HUGE POOL is cleaned early every morning & even the grounds are so clean..even the Clippers Restaurant is set out in a Relaxed Atmosphere with a great menu plus the room service is quick, which is good...i could go on & on about this beautiful resort, i call it"paradise" But, weather you are single like me,have a family with kids(they have a cute kiddies pool too) Or Anyone who wants a holiday where the sun shines with total Relaxation where you dont even have to leave the resort as everything is here for you,or venture out on a tour for the day to see parts of the Whitsundays, Then this is THE BEST RESORT TO STAY AT IN AIRLIE BEACH....

Room Tip: The coral sea spa suites are the best but ask for one with a view of the water, theses rooms are BI...

“Amazing water views....”

My husband and I stayed at this Resort over the Christmas/New Year period and we had a fantastic time. We loved swimming in the Resort pool in the afternoon sipping on cocktails which were to die for! The restaurant/bar prices were very reasonable too. We stayed in the room with the hammock and spa on the balcony and would highly recommend this room to anyone - it has amazing water views and I enjoyed lounging on the hammock in the afternoon after a busy day of touring. We are looking forward to coming back here after all the renovations have been completed. Thanks to all the staff at Coral Sea Resort for a memorable end to 2011!

“Fairytale ending - we left.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I'm a first time reviewer, but be warned; do not waste your money here. My Stay at Coral Sea Resort was far from my expectations. I was led to believe that the 4.5 star resort was 'one of the finest Earlier Beach Resorts'' which truly is an overstatement. Upon arrival the receptionist seemed to be more interested in her mobile phone then her guests who were awaiting check in. We were made to carry our own bags to our room, without ANY direction to where that was. We found a housekeeper who didn't speak much English, but at least we got a general direction.

We booked one of the Rooms with the spa and large hammock on the balcony, which we thought was a original touch. It's that strange feeling where everything on the surface looks OK, but underneath, it's just all wrong. It all started to unravel itself slowly - The room was inundated with dust - the shower was full of calcium build up and soap scum, and there was mould, an established colony of mould around the corners of our shower - the toilet had water marks - the crockery was oily and stained - our mini bar items get this - there was a sprite dated 2007, a previous guests underwear under our bed - and that hammock we were looking forward to damp and full of mould. The decor is outdated, tacky and is supposed to feature a flowing 'nautical' theme. Our nautical theme seemed to be limited to a life boy mirror on the wall above the bench the rest of the furnishing don't flow and seem to be chosen at random by a blindfolded decorator.

It extended to the restaurant where our waitress, ''Jess'' was too busy to serve us as the flirtation between the strapping young Canadian lad and herself deemed priority. We seated ourselves only to be tended to when the Scottish Restraint manager sent 'Peter' to clear a table of drinks by the pool. We waited 45 minutes for our meals, and get this, The Chef went on a smoke break while we were waiting??!?!? Our meals were put on the wrong table and came out all wrong, A very well done steak with a centimeter of blood and cold chips. Of but try telling the restaurant manager that. She yelled and swore that 'that's how we cook a steak around here, don't like it then get on your way out'' So we did. We ate at a steakhouse on the mainstreet, which by comparison - was absolute bliss -
The resort manager walks around on a power trip with some sort of god complex thinking he's above everyone else because he runs a resort held together with bandaids and chewing gum. He's to busy to even aknowledge a guest. The way he orders around his staff is disgusting and I would expect more from a sweat shop.

The next morning we awoke to a housekeeper banging on our door at 9am with a pack of smokes hanging out her pant pockets. We asked if she could come back later SHE replied 'now or never mate''. I slipped on the shower floor and that was the final straw. We checked out early and booked in at Earlier Summit. I'm not sure if its the comparison between the two - but my god I would have paid double for the standard we received there. Not a single fault.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED CASH AND WELL DESERVED HOLIDAYS AT CORAL SEA RESORT

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

We stayed in one of the 3 bed apartment which was ok. It had everything that we needed except silly little details like the milk in the fridge was out of date and the coffee too was out of date. The furnishings were dated and a bit worn and damaged. We were out most of the time and spent lots of time down at the pool area. The pool area was very beautiful and the views were amazing. I think that the hotel is relying on it's location and not enough on customer service. We took a snack down to the pool area to feed the kids because the restaurant was expensive and not inviting. A waitress told us very rudely that we were not allowed to eat our own food in that area. I don't mind complying with rules but appreciate being spoken to politely. When we reported this to the reception staff when we checked out....they were rude about it too. So all in all a bit disappointing. Staff don't really care about whether you have a good holiday....which is why it was so disappointing....could really be a lot better. Needs a facelift and an attitude adjustment!

Dear Hayley , I was disappointed to hear of your experience. Our beautiful oceanfront pool area and restaurant are fully licensed and serviced by staff. A fantastic menu with snacks and full meals is available all day as is full beverage service.

“Great Hotel, Food and Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Stayed here at start of January in a week of brilliant sunshine. Throughout the hotel the facilities were excellent including a very cheap to use laundry facility on reception level, ideal for anyone travelling as we were.
The food at the hotel is first class and the prices are the same as anywhere else in the resort.
There is no free wireless access but this can be obtained at Mangrove Jacks in the centre of the town, and it helps the food here is excellent.
The pool are is very clean and the views from here are fantastic.
Would highly recommend this hotel to all types of travellers due to its central location

Room Tip: Make sure you get a sea view room you will not regret it
